PIP (and/or link) your nursery chair

We've put off ordering a chair, but we are going to have to order one this weekend if we want it to get here in time for LO's arrival. We have a traditional wooden glider for DD, but this time I think I want to get an upholstered rocker or glider so that we'll be more likely to use it outside of the nursery later on.

I'm overwhelmed with the choices and am tired of reading reviews. Which one did you get/are you getting?

@snow527 am I right to assume that if you just order the rocker it comes in that neutral fabric that's shown? Then you have the option to add a slipcover? I like that chair (and the price).

@chalephoto I actually tried buying that chair on Black Friday but it was sold out. Boo

I REALLY want a upholstered rocker/recliner. Im not going to be able to order it until closer to time that she arrives so I'm hoping we can get one before she arrives. I'm going to go crazy if her nursery isn't "finished".

@ stufie it's from a local baby furniture warehouse. I believe it's made in Canada. Where are you located? I will ask the manager about who makes the chairs and see if I can get the info to you. I'm the pic it looks like the ottoman also glides but it doesn't. Just the chair itself does. Just an FYI cause I wanted a gliding ottoman too.

That would go great with our nursery (blues and greys). I'm having a hard time finding one I like. Do you have a link to this?

I got it from BBB and used their 20% off coupon. I think we got one of the basic fabrics--it's beige but has held up really well.

That's nice too.

I'm trying to stay around $300, which is difficult to do. I'm torn because the nursery is modern, but most of the comfy modern ones are very expensive. I was also hoping for a recliner/glider. I ordered one on cyber Monday and got an email today that they are no longer selling it.

@caseanddave That looks like a great chair and is very similar to the one we have for DD. You might be able to order replacement covers or pads for it, too, but making them sounds even better!

Don't have a picture yet because it's not finished. But my husband bought a glider rocker and ottoman for $20 at a yard sale in July. Had a few pen marks and was a light cream which showed the dirt so easily. My mom is recovering it in dark chocolate brown along with some accents of color from the fabric she is using to make baby's curtains. Can't wait to see the finished project!

We went with a recliner for the living room (TV access for late night rocking) and a vintage chair I reupholstered to match the nursery. Gotta love 40$ goodwill finds.

It looks like we'll have a couch instead of a chair as well. It's a nice firm one with a high back that pulls out. We're using it because we already have it, and I'm thinking I can nap on it as needed. If we didn't have it I'd get a big armchair + ottoman instead.
