Teenager

I'm 17 and expecting a baby in June, I will be 18 in march. Any other young mothers on here? I need someone to relate to !

  • I was a teen mom. LO #1 I was 16.
  • I'm on my second marriage, and 3rd child. First two are from previous marriage but DH claims them as his own.
  • I'm not a teenager but I am 23 and pregnant with my first (unplanned). Welcome and congrats!

  • I know joules linked you to the other thread, and normally I avoid commenting on repeat posts, but this is something I'm passionate about.

I'm no longer a teen mom, but I did have 2 by the age of 20, so I have definitely been there, done that. If you need someone to talk to I'm here!
  • I'm also 23 and a first time mom!  Not a teen, but not too far removed ;-)

    Welcome!

  • I was FTM when I was 20. Now expecting #2 at 31. It was very hard for me socially (I looked even younger and got quite the dirty looks from strangers). I wish you luck. :)

  • Former teen mom here too. I was 17 when I got pregnant and 18 when I delivered. Dd is now 9, her dad and I are now married and expecting baby #4 together:)

  • I was 18 when I got pregnant with #1. Surprise! I had only been married 5 months and we got many dirty looks and lots of questions. Delivered when I was 19 and am now 21 and expecting #2. I still get weird looks from time to time because I am so young. I'd be happy to offer any advice plus I have two friends that were teen moms, one has 8 month old, other has 3 year old. They experienced the single mom version and I would be happy to get you in touch with them.
  • I usually don't tell my whole story but.. I was 18 when I had my DD. Went through being a single mom, worked 3 jobs, and was a full time college student. I am now happily married and pregnant with #3. DH considers My DD his own. She will be 12 in two weeks and her "dad" has not contacted us in 11 years. So if you need to talk or have any questions there are plenty of us who can relate although we are no longer teens. We have been there and we can help.

  • This is such a supportive board and I'm happy you are here! I had my first at 19, but now I'm 25, married to her father, and we are expecting our second child. Welcome to the board!

  • Posted in the linked thread too, but had DD at 18, DS at 20 and will be 23 with this LO.

SUPPORT is key, whether its family or friends, doesn't matter. but I would not be a homeowner, RN, and bachelor degree graduate without my family support. I am living proof that having a baby young does not ruin your life, hell I'm financially and emotionally better off than the majority of my peers. So keep your head up and focus being the best mom you can for your baby :)

  • I'm 19 and pregnant with my first. I'll be 20 when baby is born. So will my soon yo be husband. We have been talking about marriage but we decides to push it forward to before the baby is born and to have our bigger dream wedding later on, which works well for me since part of my dream wedding is to have my own child in it. I'm not the most traditional type I guess you could say.
  • I'm 17 as well and so is the BF he turns 18 in May and me in August
  • Had my first when I was 19, my second at 22 and now I'm starting all over with #3 at 36. Like PP have said, use your support system. Let the dirty looks run off because there are more young mom's out there than those who scowl at us realize. There are plenty of cons but there are plenty of pros too. I was still young and therefore loved the zoo, circus and parks even more so. Congratulations and welcome to the board!

  • I'm 20, will be 21 when baby's born. Congrats! I hope you've learned quickly to forget about the people who judge you. They don't matter. And I'm sure you will make a wonderful mother!
  • I'm 20 turning 21 next week and I'm also expecting my first. If you need anyone to talk to I'm here for ya :) I wish you the best of luck.
