weaning off breastmilk-help

My lo is 7 months old and I am currently breastfeeding with formula supplement while I'm at work. I am also currently pregnant with baby #2. My milk supply is decreasing and I would like to start weaning my lo. How do I do this? Is it possible to still be able to nurse at night before bed but not nurse or pump any other time during the day?

    Yep.  It wouldn't work in the early weeks but after a few months (can't remember when) the milk production becomes supply and demand (it was hormonal in the first weeks - don't quote me on this my brain is still baby fried) and your body just gets used to what routine you set.  So, if you nurse once or twice a day it figures out how to make the milk for those feeds. 

    That said, the pregnancy hormones will make it harder and your body may stop producing for those feeds...but I don't think there is a way of knowing until you try. 

    Most moms try to drop a feed at a time every couple days so your child adjusts slowly.  If they've already been taking formula bottles it should be somewhat easier a transition.
