I will have to return to work at 6 weeks but I am extremely interested in EBF my baby for as long as possible (12 months hopefully).
Obviously this will require lots of pumping and bottles.
I understand that every kid is different - I really do. But I want to know which bottles worked best for YOUR child.
Plastic is fine as long as it's BPA free of course. Glass is also fine.
If you feel like typing your pumping/storing system too, that would be appreciated as well (i.e. did you pump into the medela bottles, freeze them, and feed from them, or did you pour the milk into a different kind of bottle, etc)
Thanks ya'll!
Re: Bottles for breastfed babies
I know how neat! There is one other girl on here from Biloxi and that's it for down here!
Nice to meet you Neighbor!
I loved the Dr. Brown's bottles for both of my children. I've fed my friend's baby using the glass version, and liked that even better.
I used Playtex ventaires and my son did well on them. They are not BPA free so for this baby I bought Born Free bottles which are BPA free.
I had the Medela pump In style advance and I would pump directly into the bottles that came with the pump and then pour the milk into Medela freezer bags or the Lansinoah bags.
i have a Medela Freestyle and love the hands-free option. i pump in the little bottle and transfer to either the Dr. Brown's glass bottles or freezer bags. I bought some Medela when i got the pump, but really don't like them. ?i prefer the Lansinoh bags.?
I have tried several bottle with my DS. ?the Advent sux. Gerber leaked. Adiri (which i wanted to love) didn't work. the nipple was just too tiny. i have some Playtex Drop-ins. they work great, but i hate the disposable liner. i wash out the liner and rinse with vinegar in order to prolong the use.?
BTW- a vinegar rinse on all the bottle parts got rid of the filmy "ick" that was on all the parts (it was this coating that made the nipple cloudy)?
