Groin/Hip Pain?

So ever since L was born (he will be 7 months tomorrow for those on mobile), I have had this on and off sharp pain. It's in my groin area but radiates down my leg in the front and back only on my right side. Seems to be worse at night and it comes and goes. Some days it's really bad (like tonight) and very sharp pain. Other times it's a dull ache and sometimes I don't have any pain. I obviously googled it and there is some stuff about pelvic separation...

I know I need to go see a doctor about it, but I didn't know if anyone had any insight or had experienced anything like this.

It could also be sciatic nerve issue. That could be helped with chiropractic adjustment or a steroid shot. Does stretching help any? And I agree with the pillow between the knees if you side sleep, under your knees if you back sleep. And if you stomach sleep... Don't.

And go see your doctor! It's not worth the pain.

I had quite a bit of sciatic pain in pregnancy and it sounds a lot like your issue. Acupuncture eliminated it. However, I do have some funny leg/ foot issues in that same leg. I actually kept running into walls in the hospital because they said I had changed my gait to accommodate my belly.

I'd definitely talk to your doc. PT might be able to teach you some great stretches to alleviate the discomfort.

Thanks ladies! I am going to see my OB over Christmas break for my yearly appt so I will ask him about it then and follow up with a specialist if needed.
