Hi ladies!

This is my first post here, I normally post on PAIF and TPR. I am 39 weeks, 1 day today. Just had my weekly OB appt and still no change from 37 weeks when I was a fingertip dilated and 75 percent effaced. So frustrated! I know these measurements don't mean anything really but I've hardly had any cramping and now have an induction date scheduled for Dec 18. Baby's head is very low but it's been that way for the past 2 weeks. I really don't want to be induced!

Just looking for some of your experiences. Trying to focus on the fact that I still can very well go into labor before the 18th but it's tough staying positive at this point...

DX: DH (30) severe MFI, severely low count & low motility
Me (32): all clear
Appt with Urologist 5/21/12: exam, ultrasound, bloodwork all normal.
Testicular Biopsy with TESE on 6/8/12. good sperm found! (left side only) froze sperm, failed thaw test :(
Orientation for IVF/ICSI on 6/13/12. Waiting for the green light following biopsy results...results show adequate sperm production both sides.
2nd SA 6/18/12: sample is "adequate for ICSI"
Plan: IVF/ICSI July 2012!
ER: 7/26/12. 15 eggs retrieved, all mature.
TESE/TESA/aspiration from epididymis, no motile sperm found :(
froze all eggs, the saga of praying for good sperm continues.
8/3/12: 2nd opinion from MFI uro on biopsy slides. Suspects "partial late maturation arrest."
Plan: more SAs, third biopsy/TESE with frozen back-up either from DH or DS.
SA 8/17/12: Zero sperm
SA 8/23/12: Zero sperm
9/26/12: SPERM FOUND! 15 eggs thawed, 12 survived and were ICSI'd, only 3 fertilized normally. Refrozen as embies and will thaw in Nov. Please survive and grow!
All 3 survived the thaw on 11/15/12!
FET 11/17/12: transferred 2, one 4B, one 4C. Beta 11/30:BFFN
moving on to DS
DIUI#1 2/18/13,50mg Clomid cd 3-7, Ovidrel trigger, Beta 3/4/13: BFN.
DIUI#2 3/19/13, 50 mg Clomid cd 3-7, Ovidrel trigger, Beta #1 (14dpiui) 4/2/13: BFP!!!! 150. Beta #2 4/4/13: 420 Beta #3 4/8/13: 2691. Beta #4 4/15/13: 15,086
1st u/s 4/8/13 shows one gestational sac
2nd u/s 4/15/13 shows yolk sac, fetal pole and early heartbeat
3rd u/s 4/25/13: measuring right on track. Heart rate 148 bpm
A/S 7/22/13: IT'S A BOY!!

    You never know. I wasn't dilated at all at my final OB appointment. My water broke 2 hours later! Those measurements aren't always the best indication. Best of luck for a smooth and speedy delivery!

    If you dont want to be induced maybe push off your induction one more week? Most docs will let you go to 42 weeks and maybe baby will come before then?

    I am sorry I am not much help here, I went 9 days over and had to be induced, and we tried everything to bring on labor! 

    Good luck! And baby will get here one way or another!

    Started TTC in 2006, LOTS of trying, and trying, and 7 rounds of IVF with 13 embryos, 2 perfect little boys and 5 loses....
    All finished with babies, started to make diet changes, Keto, to be MORE for my kids, lost 30 pounds, still going, and 3 months in, I had a natural cycle, and then ovulated... Hubs and I are going to see what happens now... Maybe a natural pregnancy? After everything we have been through? Or just a return to normal hormones? We shall see what the future holds!

    I went from a finger tip dilated to a baby in my arms in 8 hours flat. On 39w4d. Give it another week before you worry. GL!

    Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
    Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!

    I never had a twinge let alone any dilation until I was in labor. I woke up at 6 am with 'an upset stomach' and it took me until 8 to realize that my pain was coming every 1:30. I fully dilated, but ended up with a csection because DD got stuck.

    I went to 41w2d. I was induced at 41w1d with cervidil and then my OB broke my water at 1cm and LO arrived 12h later. Being induced wasn't as bad as I expected. No matter what, baby will be here before you know it. But I know how long and hard those last few days are. GL and hugs. I also recommend taking 15 min to sit in a quiet room by yourself. I think it was 6 weeks before I had that amount of time to myself again. I was in the middle of an exam practice session in a room by myself and I chose to nap. :)

    Hi @melkel559!!! I mostly wanted to say hi because I remember you :) my situation was totally different so I can't speak from any real experience but my OB did tell me that most people go within a 5 day window on either side of their due date.... That's what I kept reminding myself of when I thought I was going to be pregnant forever. Good luck. We can't wait to have you over here :)

    My water broke at 38w, so I'm no help directly. However, my birthing center suggests tons of natural ways to get things rolling. Anything from evening primrose Oil, nipple stimulation to walking a ton or if you are super active to take a day to relax and veg. I think trying to take your mind off THE DATE and focus on relaxing and welcoming your baby. Ive heard accupuncture or a chiropractic adjustment can help also. Good luck!

    ET 4/22/12 = 2 transfered (day 3), remaining 3 weren't good enough to freeze
    Beta 5/3 = BFP, 87 Beta #2 5/7 560.9 Beta #3 5/9 1376.5 First u/s One Baby, 125bpm!
    Second u/s, 176bmp! Kicked over to the OB by the RE at 8w. Team Green!! 
    Baby girl J arrived two weeks early! Born into water, med-free. Hooray for Team Pink!

    TTC #2 - back to the RE, treatment started 12/2014.

    Thanks so much for sharing, ladies! I need to focus on making it this far and what's a few more weeks..the induction experiences helped ease my mind too. I just still hope to go on my own but who knows what baby's plans are! And JBDamonM, thank you! It's great to see some familiar names over here, looking forward to joining you soon!

    I was induced for baby #2 at 40w4d and I'm glad I did it because she was big 8lbs 11oz.

    There are some downsides to being induced. I couldn't labor in the tub, I was hooked up to monitors the whole time. But it wasn't so bad. I went in at 6am, started pitocin, had my water broken, got the epidural and delivered by 3pm. And now I have this super cute 4 week old baby who is currently sleeping on my chest.

    For DD1, my water broke at 40w1d but I ended up having to do pitocin to start labor too. I think my body just doesn't really want to start labor.
    IVF, acupuncture, meditation and a miracle.

    Well I ended up getting induced at 39 weeks b/c of high blood pressure and it really sucked. The contractions were on top of each other and no time to breathe. It's not everybody's experience, but it is quite common. FX you go into labour on your own!
