A few years ago my cousin donated eggs. She did it a few times and I heard of a few unsuccessful transfers. Then, out of the blue, she got an email from someone who'd tracked her down after seeing her story in a magazine.
Nine eggs were harvested from cousin, and four embryos survived and were viable. Two were implanted and two frozen. The implant was successful and the woman was pregnant with twins. Unfortunately one twin miscarried, but she carried the other to term and had a healthy baby boy. Two years later, she had the other two embryos implanted and again, one survived and she had another healthy baby boy. Technically, they are twins because they were conceived at the same time. But there is a three year age gap!
I think that is such a wonderful story, and I'm so chuffed that the mother tracked my cousin down. Insert warm fuzzies here.
