Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Christmas List Recommendations?

So the grandparents are asking what we'd like for LO for Christmas. As a FTM I have no idea. What are some toys or other items that you are eyeing for your LO, or would recommend for age 9-12mos? As far as toys I'd like to focus on things that help with development and learning. I'm not sure if there are any helpful items that we'd need either that I may be overlooking - all I can think of is clothes or toys.

Re: Christmas List Recommendations?

  • My mom got my 9 month old a corolle doll and some accessories and a Noah's arc shape sorter (really cool).  We got her a riding car/push car and a playhouse that will stay indoors.

I would plan ahead and buy stuff for her for at least 12-18months of age.  Chunky puzzles, shape sorter, stacking toys, push/riding toys and some dolls.

  • Loading the player...
  • Books, blocks (pottery barn has a cute spanish set we are giving LO), a jewelry box, clothing in the next size up since I don't have any in stock.  And then people always give gift cards which I save to buy diapers.
  • Bath toys, a walker, shape sorter, and cloth diaper inserts are on dd's list :) I made an amazon wishlist and sent it to the grandparents
  • Thanks ladies, These are great suggestions!!

Pinkie78, when you say standup table, what do you mean? Like a small table and two chairs?

It's an activity table I believe. Has stuff on it that they can interact with while standing
  • Grandma had me order LO's gifts to her house...   went with the Vtech Sit to Stand Alphabet Train (already has the vtech sit to stand walker, but hey), the Tolo Toys rolling shape sorter, a Melissa and Doug bead maze, and a couple of books - a Noodle book and a BabyLit book.  Pretty sure that she did not realize that a $100 budget would be spoiling him like this LOL.
  • A toy-box ;)
DD is getting an actual table and chairs (Ikea Latt $20) and I'm making a couple different toppers for it to make it an activity table that will grow with her. I'm making a light box and getting some different transparent toys and a felt topper with scenery/roads and a little train set (also Ikea). I'd like to use chalkboard paint on the actual table top and add a paper roll holder so it can be an art table too.
She's also getting a couple little toys too, but we have a lot of stuff from DD1 and I know she will get lots of little things from friends and family so I'm trying to focus on this table idea...

  • My daughter who is 8mths this friday is obsessed with mickey mouse clubhouse!!! It is the only show i let her watch once or twice a day (while i'm getting ready for work or getting dinner ready). Everytime he comes on she goes nuts its so adorable. So we got her a few mickey mouse items.
  • My dd is getting clothes & an exersaucer thing, that she can sit/stand in & play in. She will be 7 months old from my mil. I'm probably gonna get her bins for her toys & pjs & if I see something cute. She already has some toys that ds has outgrown.
I told my mom a push toy for dd but idk what she has planned.

Same here.  I bought her a book, 2 dvds and a mickey mouse christmas doll.  She loves him.  Also I bought her toys for her high chair with suction cups.  She sits in there while do stuff in the kitchen and the dropping game really is not fun.

  • The V-Tech walker is perfect. Has a little of everything. Music, shape sorter... Your baby can sit and play and then it's a great walker too. https://amzn.to/1c4UpRi . The grandparents always love to buy the favorite toy and next milestone. <a href="https://amzn.to/1c4UpRi"><img border="0" src="https://ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?_encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B0053X62GK&Format=_SL110_&ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=as-01-12-13-20" ></a><img src="https://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=as-01-12-13-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B0053X62GK" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />
