Accountability Group......(remember who you all are :o) ALSO.....come on in for WL ideas and tips

It's ben a long time since we've updated this, and after seeing pictures of myself at Morgan's birthday party I am more motivated than ever to lose some weight.  I honestly couldn't belive how big I've let myself get, I guess since my jeans still fit I havent' thought about it but who knows.

So, it's going to be tough with Christmas right around the corner and all of the goodies that come with that.  So give me some of your ideas to lose weight during the holidays.  How do you resist temptation????

  • I'm not in the accountability group but could definitely lose a few pounds so I thought I I would chime in since there are no responses yet. I think my goal over the holiday is just to not gain weight so I guess the key to that would be to add exercise. One way to avoid going crazy at holiday events is to eat a healthy meal, like a big salad before you go so you are not as hungry and likely to fill up on sweets.

  • My plan for the holidays is just not to let myself go too crazy....I know it's unrealistic for me to expect myself to stick to any diet plan so I'm just going to try to use moderation

  • What has been helping me is that I have this tight dress for dh's christmas party I want to look good in so I am really sticking to counting calories. I am not focusing on working out as much and I am still losing weight. Right now walking around the mall for an hour is my workout even if I go and dont buy anything. I will workout more when i stop losing weight from counting calories. After that, I wanna pick out something cute to wear for new year's and that will give me motivation to look good in that. I agree with pp that having something to eat before a get together can really be helpful. Also, trying to plan out what you really want can help your day. For example, if you really want pizza for dinner then have a light breakfast and medium lunch so you can have the pizza. When I am eating out, chikfila and panera are my go to's because they have the calories listed online.

  • We'll I'm back in the game, I'm not doing W.W, but I have started My Fitness Pal, so far not bad. Since my MIL watches the baby once a week I'm able to go to the gym, once a week is better than nothing IMHO.  I've been doing 30mins of cardio on the running/jogging machine, but I really do need to add some weights in.

For me regarding the holiday food, what I'm going to try to focus on, is the fact that the meals are something that I can eat anytime I'd like, it's not as if the turkey can only be eaten on Thanksgiving or ham on Christmas.  I'm really going to try to focus on not eating desert like pecan pie is going out of style.

I haven't set a deadline, but I'd like to get back into a size 12 by Feb.
