What is this illness?

DD has been sick (kind of) since Friday. It was a stomach bug that lasted all weekend - much vomiting, dry heaving, no fever or diarrhea. Phone consult with the doc advised us to just wait it out and give fluids.

Sunday night and Monday morning, she seemed 100% better. I sent her to the daycare for a few hours Monday, no problems. She are the whole kitchen when she got home, then threw it all up an hour later. I think it was overeating to compensate for not eating for so long.

Ok, perfectly normal day at daycare Tuesday. Then she threw up in her crib at 4am today. WTF! She seems crabby but otherwise completely normal. So what is it that could be causing her to vomit about once every 24hrs but otherwise has no symptoms?

  • Pedialyte is the one thing that seems to come right back out as soon as it goes in. Weird thing is she's eating normally! Milk, applesauce, whatever, she's grabbing for food like she's starving. And she's totally fine with it most of the day. I don't get it.

  • Babies are so hard sometimes. It could be that she's feeling better but her stomach is not fully healed. I know when I get a stomach bug the first 24 hours are awful followed by a few days of recovering. You could try the brat diet for a day or so. I'm sure she!ll be feeling better soon. Also, sorry she was so sick. Poor girly.

  • I wish I knew! DS had a very similar bug the last few days. He was completely his normal self minus randomly throwing up whenever he ate. Thankfully he kept fluids down okay. He finally had a vomit free day today after 3 days of it. Hopefully she feels better soon!
