Dr apt - heart issues

I've had for about a month my heart races, can't catch my breath & I get dizzy. They OB sent me to see my family Dr. I saw her today. I had some abnormalities in an EKG & she's sending me to see a cardiologist to be safe & another type of test. I have some restrictions of no caffeine, no exercise, take it easy & feet up when it happens.

Is the rhythm irregular, too? Mine is ridiculously fast, I'm talking 130's resting. Hopefully you get some good news!

I've had intermittent circulation weirdness. I know our blood volume is increasing, so I chalked it mostly up to that. I was actually investigating a medical cond. in the beginning of OCT where that was a symptom, among others I had, I was so freaked out. so it was ironic I turned out to be preg. I totally do NOT remember having this at all with DS, so I still am investigating the medical condition.

I hope it's nothing serious. IDK what week you are, but the issues I was having have improved slightly as time has gone on. It's not perfect though.

That happened to me too. Went in for a total random procedure (wisdom teeth yanked) and the nurses said my EKG was weird. Went in a few months later for an endoscopy and the anastesiologist said "hey you have WPW!" I was like wtf is that. She said to not freak out just go see a cardiologist. Saw them within 2 weeks and he confirmed it was WPW. Wolfe parkinson white syndrome. Basically it's an extra pathway in the heart. Could be what you have who know but you should get it checked. It's a somewhat simple solution if it is that. An ablation. I've had 2 within 4 years. My hearts stubborn soon as one is fixed a new one pops up. It's vital you get any heart issues checked. I thought I had been having "panic attacks". One even had me hospitalized because I passéd out. Turns out it was heart issues all along.

This happens to me occasionally on a normal basis, and a lot when I'm pregnant. I have Mitral Valve Prolapse which is a very common and very mild heart defect. A lot of people have it and never even know. When you're pregnant and your blood volume increases, it can exacerbate the problem and make you feel like your heart is out of rhythm or skipping beats. I had this bad when I was PG with DS and my cardiologist put me on a beta blocker for the duration of my pregnancy. It took care of the problem for me and as soon as I had DS, I was back to normal in a few weeks. I hope you get it resolved quickly, and try not to worry about it!
