Met with my RE today

And I feel like I've got so much information to process! Overall, it was a great appointment. Found out my AMH is 2.3, so that's good. Also found out I have a small 1.48cm septum in my uterus. Seems a bit strange that this is the first we've ever discussed it, but whatevs. DH and I need to decide if it should be surgically removed before doing IVF or not, so there's another decision to make and possibly pay for. Game plan is to do one more IUI with meds next cycle, then if that's a bust move onto IVF (@mrs castillo and @freakyfast that would likely be starting in mid Jan!). My clinic's day 5 transfer success rate is 55% and day 2/3 is 45%ish. So yeah, lots to think about and really no point to this post :)  Potato?!?

Two DDs 10/08 and 08/10, no primary IF
TTC #3 since 10/2011 - dx unexplained/weak ovulation
 3 BFN clomid + TI cycles, 5 BFN clomid/gonal f IUIs, 1 mmc IUI
2/19/2014 IVF #1 Unexpected low E2 (oversuppressed) -> increased to max doses = 3 or 4 follicles, converting to IUI
BFFP Saw 1 beautiful heartbeat at 6w6d, follow up u/s at 9w showed mmc. Eff this.
NTNP 5/2014-9/2014, OPKs and TI 10/2014 - 1/2015. 
RPL testing all normal, AFC, AMH, and FSH all normal. 
IVF 1.2 1/22/2014 natural cycle start, AFC 28, 300 gonal f/150menopur. 
ER 2/3/15 14R 8M 3F w/ICSI Day 5 transfer on 2/8/15 of one "Grade A+" blast and have TWO frosties!

    So sorry I don't know anything about septums... What are the pros and cons of surgery? 
    Also when is IUI next cycle? In December or January?

    My RE is on the fence on whether or not he recommends surgery for me. He said that since I've had two successful pregnancies without issues I should be fine without surgery. However, if I had not had any kids he would recommend it just to make sure all the bases are covered. The problem lies in an embryo potentially implanting on the septum - blood flow to that area is reduced, which can lead to mc, which makes me wonder if that was the case for my mc in August. 

    Next IUI cycle will start around Dec. 20, so BC for IVF cycle would start around Jan. 20th.

    Glad you had a good appointment!  I'm with @Mrs Castillo; I think I would skip the surgery for the septum if I were in your shoes unless the RE thought that there was much of a chance of it implantating there.  I'm guessing that risk is fairly small given the small size of the septum, right?

    Very exciting! I agree with above- leave it, no issues don't rock the boat. Always good to share news when so much to look forward to! So excited for you!

    I would leave that itty bitty septum, you've had 2 babies grow in there just fine, I don't see how that teeny little thing would hinder a pregnancy, and when I hear "surgically removed" I just think "MORE DELAYS" that's like more womp womp. We have enough womp womp already, am I right?

    Thanks guys! My initial reaction is pshaw, I don't need no stinkin' surgery! But then the little nasty voice >:) in my head pointed out that if we don't do surgery, do IVF and it fails, I will forever wonder if it was because of the stupid septum. So yeah. I'm torn :-?

    That is how I felt about my surgery... Granted mine was nothing like that, but my RE wouldn't do a transfer without me  having the surgery.  I will be thinking of you.  Sometimes decisions will be made for you.  LIKE your IUI working and you not needing it.  BOOM!

    Yes, I change my answer.  This one now gets my vote.  IUI success all the way!!
