Uterus growing/braxton hicks/something else

I'm 17 weeks today. I've been hanging out on the couch watching tv and feel like I've had about 4 or 5 BH contractions in the last 2 1/2 hours (lower abdomen gets tight and hard) that are painless....I don't really remember any with DD (and didn't even realize I was in labor most of the day with her until my water broke - like 12 hours later). Is it too early for BH contractions? worth a call? just cramps? I'm trying not to be the overly worried/freak out PG lady...I'm just not sure if they're actually BH or uterus cramps/growing.

    I started getting BH so early this time...8 weeks when I was out for a brisk walk! But I'd get it checked anyway, just for peace of mind. With multiples they will never look at you like you're a crazy paranoid pregnant lady, so don't worry ;)

    I started getting BH at 18 weeks....usually after a long day of work or if I wasn't getting enough fluids. You can always call to ease your mind; that's what the docs and nurses are there for! They will most likely tell you to rest and come in if you get more than a certain number per hour that don't go away w/ rest and water.

    Definitely not being a "overly worried/freak out PG lady" :)  Figuring out what our bodies are telling is us is really important!  For what it is worth, I outright asked my mil (an OB nurse) what a BH felt like.. because with both of my girls I felt no pain or contractions until they broke my water, at which point they came so fast it was just constant pain.. so I don't even know what a contraction really feels like ~sigh~  A blessing that has a not so silver lining?

    Drink a ton of water and see if it stops, if not, I would give your OB a call.
