Anyone with PCOS?

This is, in a way, a spin off on today's shedding thread. I noticed that several posters mentioned facial hair. I, too, struggle with very embarrassing facial hair due to PCOS. It got so much worse when I was pregnant, and it's still very bad. I've waxed, bleached, plucked and threaded but am frustrated with the amount of time required to keep the hair away. Are there any PCOS ladies who've had success with a more permanent solution (ie. laser hair removal)? I'm considering biting the bullet and shelling out the $$$ after I stop breastfeeding, but I've read so many mixed reviews about successful hair removal with PCOS. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Anyone with PCOS?

  • No success here. I wanted to do lhr on my face but found out (after buying a groupon) that my facial hair isn't dark enough. Ugh. It's super coarse and noticeable so I was disappointed.

  • I have pcos but I'm on the mild end of the spectrum. So, I don't have terrible facial hair, only a tiny bit. I have friend who is more severe and she had lhr a few years ago. She's now pregnant for the first and some of it has come back.

  • I have PCOS but have gotten laser on my bikini with success. I am fortunate that my facial hair growth is thin enough that I just wax at home. If they can do it on your face I would recommend laser. It does work by either completely removing hair and/or making it much finer. Good luck.
  • I can't do laser on my face because my hair is way too light.

I have gotten three super sexy long chin hairs since having my first son. It's ridiculous how fast it grows back after I pluck it! All I need is a mole and I can be a witch 365 days a year...
