Intro and cosleeping help!

Hi everyone! This is my first time over on this board so I figured I'd do an intro.

I'm 25, been married for 3 and a half years, and DH and I welcomed our first baby on October 18th (due date baby!) A healthy boy we named Henry.
I EBF and I'm starting to really enjoy it now that we have worked through our beginning challenges.

When he was around 2- 3 weeks old he had no problems sleeping for 2-3 hours in the PNP napper (under the watchful eye of DH) while I got some rest.
Then out of no where we were lucky to get him to stay asleep there for 30 minutes. That's when he starting sleeping on my chest. He could sleep for hours there! I never slept well though because I am So aware of him and knew it wasn't the safest solution.
One night I took him into bed with me. (Something I never planned on doing) It feels so natural and Right to me. We both sleep pretty well most of the time and side lying BFing is amaze!

This however made DH sleep in the guest room so we could have plenty of safe space in our King size bed.
I started doing a lot more research yesterday because DH has to be back in our bed! I miss him! I was reading that a big thing with Co sleeping is that both parents need to be in it 100%. So I talked with DH about it and he said he isn't because he is worried about the safety. :( He never said a word before!

So I starting explaining everything I had learned and what I already knew about making it very safe and that it really is what nature intended IMO. I don't think he was really listening because he was distracted with work but I'm not giving up on this.
Any suggestions on how to make him feel more comfortable? He is a scientific type so any helpful articles would be right up his alley. (I already plan to have him read the Dr. Sears research)

Oh and one last question. Should I push the bed up against the wall and fill any gaps with tightly rolled towels? Or buy a mesh bed rail? I've read both are considered safe practices but wonder what other Co sleepers suggest/prefer.

Sorry this got so long! Thanks for reading if you got this far! ♡
