Sttn and feeding

Once your baby is sttn do you increase the amount of ounces in their daily bottles? My girls slept from 7-630 this morning for the first time and I'm wondering if I should increase to make up for the lost bottle? They normally have 4 bottles per day 5-6 ounces and then the 4am bottle which they skipped.

Re: Sttn and feeding

  • When my LO started sleeping through the night I noticed that she would eat more in the morning (6oz vs her normal 4 oz bottles). I still feed her on demand, but she seems to cluster feed right before bed time which helps I am sure.

  • I think I'll make the bottles 7 ounces and see what they do for today. They seem to eat a bit less than the 2.5 ounce per pound guideline. I know if they are gaining it's fine but I'm a FTM worry wart and I probably overthink everything!

  • i just started offering an extra 1-2 oz in her bottles to make up for it.

my LO never ate" enough" according to guidelines . She's always be in the 80-90th percentile for weight but always ate between 20-24 oz with maybe 26-28oz during growth spurts.  as long as they continue to grow and wet diapers, they are fine :)

Wondering the same thing…Doc told me today that Im overfeeding LO and that I can let him sleep 12 hours at night and do 3-5 feedings a day. We were going to up from 6oz  to 7/8 oz a bottle and do a bottle at 7am, 10, 12, 1pm, 4, 7pm. We have been feeding every 3 hours.
