Playmat too slippery?

I am excited because the DS has been making attempts to turn from his tummy to his back but his playmat is so slippery. This is probably a weird question but what do you use so they get a better grip? The mat is great for when he is on his back it's very entertaining But on his tummy he is getting frustrated because he wants to turn and his feet slide

    Following. My DD has the same issue. I was thinking of putting her on my yoga mat.

    We either use a regular blanket or just put her on the carpet. Anything will be fine As long as it's clean and LO can get some traction.

    I wouldn't invest in anything specific. If your baby could roll on a stickier surface now, he'll be able to roll on that mat in a week or two. Whether or not he rolls on something else now. Or, he may not roll for awhile, even if he is fully capable, regardless of the surface.

    DS rolled one day at 4 months, then didn't roll again until one day at 5 months, and then didn't roll again until 6 months when he started rolling everywhere, suddenly, one day, and hasn't stopped moving since!
