For those of you in the Houston area, can you recommend a clinic/RE? Also, if you had a bad experience anywhere, please tell me places that i should not go.
I highly recommend Houston Fertility Institute (HFI). I would rec Dr. Griffin. (or maybe it is Griffith...I am bad with names.) Gill is also good, but I am not sure if he practices full-time anymore. They have locations all over the place. I have been on many different IF boards over the years and only maybe 1 time have heard something negative but have heard dozens and dozens and dozens of positive things...
I do not recommend Houston IVF. I don't even want to get into on here, but it is from personal experience and I have good reasons. And you know my experience must have been bad because I conceived my son through treatment with them and I still don't have good things to say about them!
I have also been to a doctor (Kovanci) at Baylor that I liked, but from what I have heard HFI has a much better lab.

I went to fertility specialists of Houston. A friend of mine donated eggs there, and another got KU there, and we have all been happy. I had a TERRIBLE experience at HFI. My RE was great, but it was all money grubbing and idiot staff. GL!

@TJ1979 - What location of HFI were you at? I heard about another poster who was at one of the south or central locations (I think) who didn't have a good experience either, but I had a much different experience at the Willowbrook location. I wonder if some of it depends on the location you are at...

I'm sure it does. I was at tangle wood or something? And transferred to med center, and that was even worse.

Another happy HFI patient- although I'm a lurker on this board since I haven't actually completed a pregnancy yet. I've been with Dr Griffith at the Willowbrook office since Jan 2010. Despite not having actually carried to term (yet) I don't have any complaints about the practice and have continued going back for more transfers/retrievals. I just wish I didn't have to move on to my OB- I'd happily stay with HFI through delivery if I could.
Friends for 17 years. Married 10. TTC since Jan 2009.

I'm yet another happy HFI patient who saw Dr. Griffith at Willowbrook and loved him! I also saw Dr. Skorupski (sp) who was also at Willowbrook (last I checked) when Griffth was out of the office and he was great too
Depending on where you are, my friend saw Dr. Witz in the Clear Lake HFI office and had a good experience as well. GL!
