Elacare Formula

My son is 2 months now and has a milk protein allergy. He was on similac alimentum but his GI switched him to Elacare which has no milk or soy what so ever. It is an amino acid based formula. Has anyone ever tried this formula? I've never even heard of it! Thanks!

    We have the same issue.  My LO was put on Neocate.  Neocate is the other option to Elacare.  Bottom line....freaking expensive!   BUT!!  I have a totally different baby now.  LO was on alimentum prior there to as well.  This stuff doesn't smell nearly as bad.  LO's bm's are black from the Neocate.  Not sure if Elacare will do the same.  It would have freaked me out, but I read reviews online.  Google Elacare to find people that used it.  Preferably the Elacare site.  Someone will have posted some of the reactions they have encountered.  It does take about a month before you will see a true difference.  LO's insides have to heal.
