When did you get your first cycle after BC?

Hello! I've never posted before, but I've lurked a bit. This is my first month off the pill and first month TTC. I should have gotten my period today but it obviously hasn't come and I don't feel anything. I took an early response test on Sunday but it was negative. Waiting a few days to test again, but I'm thinking my body is just out of whack. When did you get your first period after coming off the pill?? I took my last BCP on October 23 and was on for approximately 10 years, since I was about 16.

I don't remember, so it must have been "on time" or else I would've remembered the freak out. I was completely regular after coming off, give or take a day. But that isn't the same for everyone.

I had one anovulatory 23 day cycle with a really light period. I'm now on day 55 of my 2nd cycle, and, again, I have not ovulated. I had been on BC for just over 10 years. I've heard a wide variety of answers to the question though.

I'd strongly recommend temping (check out fertility friend for more information). That way you'll know if you haven't ovulated at all, if you ovulated late (and can expect AF to be "late"), or if AF is actually late and it's time to take a pregnancy test. Really, until you do that there's not much insight someone could give aside from telling you to take a pregnancy test or wait for your period if it's negative.

42 days. My cycles were really long for about a year after I stopped using hormonal BC. After a year, they suddenly dropped to 30-32 days.

Because I was charting my temperatures (See a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility or fertility friend .com) I know that I ovulated on cycle day 15, had a 10 day luteal phase and got my period on day 26.

I haven't been able to have AF without medication for the last 9 months. I've only had 3 of them this year that way.. hoping that will change this month.

Everyone is different though. If you don't get AF or a positive test in 60 days consult your doctor. Good luck!

I got mine immediately but everyones body is different, it may take some time for your body to regulate.

Mine was 46 days. I was on bc for over 10 years too, so it was a huge adjustment. I went off bc sept 2nd, and have had only one period since. The FF app has been super helpful in keeping track, and I highly suggest reading Taking

28 days after the last pill. It was legit the only "textbook" cycle I've had since I stopped. I had wacky cycles before I was on it though, so I guess my body "regulating" is going back to its craziness.

Luckily, i got mine cd31 after stopping bcp which is where i was before bcp.

What surprised me is how my period has stayed the same compared to during bcp and now after in terms of length and the amount of bleeding. So far it's feels the same.

My first cycle charting FF didn't detect a clear ovulation date since i missed a day (i think it was my O day) but i finally got CH last cycle. I'm currently cd19 and waiting for CH.

113 days. I ended up taking Provera to induce it. But turns out my body is all screwy so take this with a grain of salt.

I was on bc for about 4 years and I got my AF exactly 4 weeks after stopping. But everyone is different. Pre BC my periods were all over the place, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, it was a guessing game.

I was on the mini pill but I got mine about 2 weeks after I stopped. Since it was only 2 weeks later I VERY highly doubt that I O'd. After that I was clock work for a wee bit, then I was all messed up. It can get a bit funky after BC.

I was on/off it for 15 years. mostly on. Took my last pill Oct 1st this year and my first cycle was 40 days. Get a BBT and start temping. That way you will know if you are actually late or not. You will save alot of money in HPT's. mine was $10 from CVS. Last time I took a break from the pill, i had a cycle that was 78 days.

I just finished my second cycle after stopped the bcp and was on it for 9 years. My first cycle was 28 days and my second was 32, but started to spot from cd 27. It's just a waiting game unfortunately.

I got a BFP within a few weeks of going off BC pills, after having been on them for quite a few years. We weren't TTC at the time, I just knew my period was supposed to be starting and it hadn't so I tested. For others it can take weeks/months to get back on track. Everybody is different.

Everyone is different. But the first month I was off I got mine after 31 days. The next month I was at 35 days. Then after that it was 67 days. So every cycle has been different for me.

Most likely it will take you body awhile to get adjusted.

I'm new to the board also and my first period after stopping BC came at 30 days which was only 2 days later than it came while on the pill. However, it's now been 37 days since my last period with no sign of it at all! I took two tests and I'm not pregnant so my body is just out of whack which really sucks. It's now been two months since I stopped taking BC. I started the pill at 17 and was on it for a little over 10 years. My gyno claims that has nothing to do with fertility but who knows. Anyway, good luck!

I came off BCP in April and didn't have a AF on my own until this cycle. Before this cycle I was prescribed Provera to bring on AF.

My last three cycles have been between 30, 29, and 28 days.

That being said, like PP have said, everyone's body is different. The newbie blog at the top has answered a lot of the questions I've had so far since coming here, and FF is great for tracking your cycles. I personally didn't start temping before this cycle, so I haven't seen how it all comes together yet, but I've been educating my self a lot over the past few weeks about charting and temps and it amazes me how it all works with the body.

My last bcp was on October 28th and I had been on the pill for 8 years, since I was also 16. I had some withdrawl bleeding for four days beginning November 1st and AF just arrived on CD34. I would absolutely start temping, I didn't start until CD23 but due to my shift in temp I knew AF was coming before I had it, its honestly crazy how accurate that method is! Good luck!!

I finally got it yesterday, never been so happy to get my period! Now I can actually start tracking ovulation, and I bought a basal thermometer. Thank you for your insight! Yay!
