What do you celebrate in your house? Christmas! It's my FAVORITE holiday by far.

Name a new tradition you've started with LO(s).
We will be giving G a new set of PJs on Christmas Eve to wear and watch Rudolph before bed. A friend does this with her kids and I loved the idea!

Name a tradition you are carrying on from when you or DH grew up.
My Dad always read "The Night Before Christmas" under the tree before bed on Christmas Eve. It was so cool to lie down and look up through the tree at the lights and ornaments. I get goosebumps thinking about it. We will continue that.
As for DH, his parents got him an ornament every year and wrote his name and the date on it so that when we got married we had a full set or ornaments for our first tree. It was awesome! We will do that for our kids, too.

If you celebrate Christmas - what is Santa bringing LO(s)?
G will have no concept of Christmas, but we still got her some gifts! Her big present is the Radio Flyer Walker wagon. I also got her bath toys, a Go car, and a ton of Christmas board books.
Funny story - DH was upset that I ordered all her presents off of Am.azon, he wanted to go shopping together - I had no idea that he would have even cared! It was so cute, so I told him we can go to Target together to pick out stocking stuffers for her. So sweet.

What do you celebrate in your house? Christmas!! I love this time of year!

Name a new tradition you've started with LO(s). Same as @Ducky719 - we will buy DS a new ornament every year to start his own collection! DH and I have bought each other one since we've been married, so we're continuing it with DS. He'll also get Christmas PJ's on Christmas Eve.

Name a tradition you are carrying on from when you or DH grew up. We still do the traditional 7 fishes Christmas Eve with my in-laws, I think it's important for DS to grow up knowing that. And we drive 2 hours to my parents on Christmas morning in our PJs to open gifts with my family. The PJs are super important

If you celebrate Christmas - what is Santa bringing LO(s)? DS is getting a PBK Anywhere Chair, Christmas PJs and clothes from us and a set of wooden blocks, books, art stuff and a kid's broom set (ha - he's obsessed with ours!) from Santa.

Name a new tradition you've started with LO(s). Hummm, we haven't started much yet. Not sure what we will do.

Name a tradition you are carrying on from when you or DH grew up.

Our big thing is the tree. DH and I always make a big to-do about cutting it down, then we come home - have a fire, decorate and have a really good meal and wine.... We make a day of it. We have always gone to the same place to cut it down (where i've gone my entire life - and it was also always a big to do when I was a child) but we had to change it up this year...The farm is 40 min away, and it means a 40 min plus drive home, down a highway with a tree on the roof. DH is never all to thrilled with this part, and it seemed like a recipe for disaster when you add an 8 month old baby into the mix.

I'm also really bummed b/c the plan was to put it up Sunday. DH insisted on going out for a bit to watch some football, stayed out later than planned (SHOCKER) and then fell asleep when giving LO her bottle. I wound up decorating and eating my lasagna rolls alone Bitter just typing this. Needless to say - things will be done differently next year.

Also, while I know it's got mixed reviews, I do plan on doing elf on a shelf in a couple of years when LO is older.... AND I also plan on taking her to the polar express - a night time train ride with Santa where the kids where Pajamas....(@ccam - you ever thought about this with your LO?) ....In a nutshell - I Can't wait for LO to be a bit older so we can really do more and make our own traditions.

Not too much this year since she's so little. A little purse set (Melissa and David)....a couple of books, probably a toy cell phone and maybe a toy tablet (this was not on the docket - but I Saw it on Tar.get.com yesterday and loved it, plus LO ALWAYS wants my I-Pad!)

@JBDamonM The one in Essex? Yes!! We are definitely doing it next year. I think he's still a little young this year....plus, its been sold out.

@CCAM - Yes! That one. Probably smart to wait, I think it's also rather pricey....... I can't wait to take LO though, probably still a couple years away

@ccam and @JBDamon - we are in Massachusetts, too! I looked into doing the Polar Express with G but decided it was a little too involved for us at this point. We are DEFINITELY going next year. If either of you do it, let me know how it goes!!

What do you celebrate in your house? Christmas

Name a new tradition you've started with LO(s). Haven't officially started anything new yet, although I did start setting up the tree while watching Elf a couple years ago, did that last night too so that might count!

Name a tradition you are carrying on from when you or DH grew up. I will continue the tradition of an ornament every year, my mom did this for me, and it always had something to do with something that happened that year, so last year T's ornament was basically babys first christmas, this year its going to be a panda because he is obsessed with pandas for some reason, its so cute!

If you celebrate Christmas - what is Santa bringing LO(s)? Not sure what the santa present might be, I have collected several melissa and doug wooden food sets over the course of the year that might be the santa gifts.

@CCAM - So glad you brought up the PBK chair. I registered for one and it's been sitting in it's box for months - I just put it together and tucked it aside until Christmas..... HAHAHA. A fake Christmas gift from Santa

What do you celebrate in your house? Christmas and Hannukah (DH's mom is Jewish).

Name a new tradition you've started with LO(s). He fell in love with the Advent calendar when he saw it on Caillou, so we're Adventing it up this year Santa also puts a new dreidel in their stockings each year (that sounds odd, but oh well!).

Name a tradition you are carrying on from when you or DH grew up. Reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" on Christmas Eve, and picking out a Christmas ornament each year.

If you celebrate Christmas - what is Santa bringing LO(s)? A work bench from The Land of Nod, a keyboard, a train table, some new books, and a few other small things. 3 kids are expensive, so Santa is not going overboard in our house this year

If you celebrate Hannukah - what will LO(s) get over the course of the 8 nights? We don't do the 8 nights in our house, but we were at DH's parents' for Thanksgiving. Our LOs got lots of new books, a pink lullaby seahorse (to match the blue one), some clothes, and Potty Time Elmo.

What do you celebrate in your house? We celebrate Christmas.

Name a new tradition you've started with LO(s). I want to do new PJs every year on Christmas Eve, bake cookies for Santa, and watch a Christmas movie that night.

Name a tradition you are carrying on from when you or DH grew up. I always got a new ornament every year that I got to pick out and when I moved out for college, I had a box of ornaments to take with me. It was fun going through them all my first Christmas out of the house so I will do that for H. I also have been very adamant about being at my house Christmas Eve night and having no one come visit until after lunch Christmas Day. It's important to me that we spend this as a family of 3 and not out of town with my ILs or my parents. And my MIL tends to act like the mother not the grandmother, so I don't want her taking my kid away to play with him and his new things before I get to.

If you celebrate Christmas - what is Santa bringing LO(s)? This year Santa is bringing a rocking "horse" that is an airplane! It has buttons to play music about counting/colors/alphabet/and something else I can't remember. He is also bringing some new books!
