My best friend is getting married in May and she is looking for some suggestions on a song she can do her father daughter dance to. The only song that is a no is "I loved her first" she said it's to over played. Any suggestions are appreciated!
My dad and I danced to "you're my best friend" by queen. It fits our personalities and relationship. I love Queen, so everytime I hear that song now, I think of my dad and smile.
My Dad & I danced to "I hope you Dance" by Leeann Wolmack. Gosh, I'm having a good cry. I miss my Dad so much. He passed this past October & it just hit me that I was so thankful that he beat cancer to walk me down the aisle. He got to hold both babies.
I know he's taking care of my angel-babies in Heaven... Sorry for the detour/thread jack, but I just got incredibly happy/sad/emotional.
I hope your friend has a beautiful wedding & memorable Dad-Daughter dance with her Father.
We danced to "Ready, Set, Don't Go" by Billy Ray Cyrus. It had some special meaning because I was getting ready to leave for basic training in a couple months, and my parents were struggling with it quite a bit.

"Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder. Great song, my dad picked it, but it sure seemed long when we were up there dancing to it.....(we're both fairly shy)
Have her check out the song "Daddy" by Kendall Payne. It's beautiful. I would have used it in a heartbeat if I could have shared a father daughter dance with my dad.
Ours was really random but incredibly meaningful. 'Alison' by Elvis Costello. It's my middle name, and it became so because my mom and dad absolutely couldn't agree on a name they liked. My dad had gone back to their house to get some stuff for my mom after I was born but she and I were still in the hospital, and 'Alison' came on the car radio. And he wanted that to be my middle name. The lyrics are definitely on the weird side, though. To be fair, H and I first dance was to 'You Better, You Bet' by The Who.

I didn't dance with my dad but I did play Mr. Bo Jangles for him because he always calls himself that. He is a great dancer, as he likes to remind us. He looks a lot like a male version of this on the dance floor...
We danced to "Brown eyed girl." I don't have brown eyes, but it is a cute song and I wanted something a little more upbeat. My brother cut in about halfway through (as he was asked/told/pleaded with to do bc I don't really like my Dad that much) and it was a lot of fun.
We danced to "Just fishin'" by Trace Adkins. We fished a lot through my childhood and it's a song about making memories with his daughter. Another good one by Trace Adkins that isn't too overused is "Then They Do".
