Methergine- question for anyone who had to take it post loss (previous pregnancy mentioned)

Hi ladies-  I had some heavy, delayed bleeding which prompted me to get a scan from my OB on Monday.  My uterus wasn't as empty as she would have liked (some pooled blood and small clots) and since I was planning to return to work yesterday, she suggested I take another week off and prescribed me 2 days of Methergine to try to finish things up from a bleeding perspective since she didn't think I was done yet.

I started the pills yesterday.  Started them mid day and got the 3 pills in throughout the afternoon/evening. I've taken 2 so far today, so just one left to take.  I had a tiny bit of brown blood yesterday afternoon (I think probably the pooled blood she saw in the scan) but although I've had the crampiness I was told to expect- I've not had any other bleeding.

If I don't see anything by tomorrow afternoon, I'll probably give my OB a call.  I'm just wondering if this means it's not working or if maybe the bleeding could still be coming.  I'm planning to return to work on Monday, so I'm just trying to ensure that I'm not having to deal with any of this physical stuff next week if at all possible.  My physical recovery from full term labor and delivery with my daughter didn't take this long- why does something like this have to drag out for so long... as if it's not hard enough :(

BFP #2- 7/13; EDD- 4/2/14; Lost DS at 20 weeks (11/16/13) due to cord accident

BFP #3- 3/14; EDD- 11/28/14; Lost DD at 15 weeks (6/7/14)- cause unknown

    I don't have experience with this but wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you. I am very sorry that on top of everything you are dealing with this too.

    I had to take methergine for 3 days when I had postpartum bleeding...I'm thinking the bleeding will be a little delayed as that was my case. Then again, I had residual placenta and needed a d&c so you might not want to take my word for it. I think you should call your doctor just to make sure and hopefully they can let you know better of what to expect.
    I'm sorry you have to go through this and praying that it resolves itself soon!!!

    Thanks ladies.  Took my last pill around dinner time.  Definitely having some minor cramping (I took preemptive Motrin as suggested by my OB, so the pain isn't bad). Still no bleeding. I'm gonna give it until early afternoon tomorrow and then give my OB a call if nothing's happened yet. It's sad to wish for bleeding, but I'd really like to get this show on the road :(
