Not sure how to feel about this....

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/03/caroline-berg-eriksen-post-baby_n_4377085.html?1386085275&icid=maing-grid7%7Cmaing14%7Cdl10%7Csec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D414028

On one hand, I'm jealous and loathe her for looking this good. If my body looked that good 4 days after giving birth, I would probably show it off too.

On the other hand, I get what people say about creating unrealistic expectations on women to immediately be back in shape after having a baby.

However, I don't feel the immediate need to be right back in shape right after having a baby. I could care less what some celebrities look like shortly after giving birth to the point where I don't feel pressure to be immediately back in shape (I can still be jealous though, right???). Sure, if I had a personal trainer, someone to tailor all of my meals to be healthy, and no job to go to -- instead spending all of my time at the gym -- I could look like that too.

Re: Not sure how to feel about this....

  • I guess that's the one good thing about being plus sized before getting pregnant - I have never looked that good, so don't feel any pressure to get back to anything close to that.  I'll be happy to get back to my 20 size pants that I already can't fit into due to the bloat.  *chunky girl problems*  :)

  • Yeah this was shared on my other BM group. I feel like I am a relatively healthy person - no six pack or anything mind you but healthy and active. I had a very healthy first pregnancy, exercised throughout, gained 30 lbs pretty exactly. I did not have my pre-pregnancy body back at four days by any means at all. Of course it wasn't a goal I was racing towards and perhaps she was but I also am guessing she was underweight pre-pregnancy and gained less than the recommended amount while pregnant. Good for her but don't anyone feel like this is the standard to live up to. That is why I loved Kate Middleton showing the world what a more reasonable but still great post-partum body can look like.

  • If we criticize her, then we're saying HER body is somehow ugly or inappropriate, and that goes against the concept of accepting who you are, regardless. If I had a job where I worked on fitness and nutrition all the time, and was married to an athlete, I'd probably be closer to that too. So would many of us. If ppl told me my body would be wrecked, and it wasn't, I'd take a selfie to prove it. However, if she was like the other person mentioned, that posted "what's your excuse" with her fit post partum selfie, well that is just bitchy and that person is a fool.

  • I want to be her, I'm just not sure whether it's because I have *never* looked as good as she does 4 days after, or because I'm pretty sure that the giant chandelier hanging behind her is inside her walk in closet and I definitely need that in life!!

I just don't even know how that's physically possible. I was still rocking the super giant pads and my granny panties 4 days PP.

I actually did weigh less after giving birth than I did before getting pregnant because I lost about an extra 10 pounds of water weight. It didn't stay that way, though. :P  And I definitely had the soft poochy belly.
  • I think it's tacky to post a picture of yourself in your lingerie. Get it together. On the other hand, she looks amazing.how is that even physically possible?

  • I only gained like 5lbs when I was pregnant with my daughter. And I thought I would be able to fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes really fast. NOPE! My hips widened and they never fit again. I went up a pants size permanently because of it.

So I say good for her for looking great! No reason to criticize. She does what she feels is right for her body and her family. At the end of the day having healthy LOs and living a healthy lifestyle is what's important.

Eh. It took me 7 months to lose the baby weight, and another 4 before I was to the weight I'm at now. I'm cool with how long that took. Good for her I guess, but I hope most people who read this realize that this isn't the norm.

Yes the big question in my other group was where is her diaper/pad and how is she wearing those teeny panties!

  • Damn dude.  She barely looked pregnant in that one pic.  Good for her.  I mean, it is her *job* to look good.

On that note.. *sugary substances going down*

  • This is tough for me, I have a sister in law and very close friend who looked like this shortly after they delivered. It's frustrating because I will definitely compare myself to them after I deliver and I don't think I can avoid it. Different body types and I was a little heavier than them to begin with. Ill compare none the less.

We've created this unhealthy competition to see who can get in shape quicker. It's tough, I hope I'm not too hard on myself on our vacation a month and a half after I'm due with all the skinny, bikini wearing moms.

  • If you look at her photos when she was 8 1/2 moths pregnant, she carried very close to her body.... She still has the linea nigra. I say good for her!
I was someone who did not have a tummy after birth with my daughter. Don't get me wrong, I was not rocking abs or sexy thighs and I know that won't happen again this time around.
I'm definitely jealous of it but high five to her for being smoking hot!

  • everybody is different and their bodies react differently. I was blessed to drop a ton of weight within two weeks the first time...I looked great for me. I've never been as small as she is but good for her! I agree that society has created unrealistic expectations for women but I have no problem with a person skating their successes on social media... it's kind of what it's there for.

  • Honestly she looks like someone who is blessed with the type of genetics where she's probably never worried about her weight; someone naturally rail thin. It's great for her (I'm jealous considering my genes are nowhere near naturally thin) but I also think some women take things too personally so instead of saying "great for her" they say "why does she have to rub it in?" But I agree with @cookieinva where are her big old pads?

  • Good for her. However after DD was born my belly looked like jello. I gained 30 lbs and lost it all pretty quickly but my belly was not lookin' flat afterwards. Also I agree with pp where are the monster pads to soak up all the blood? Also I'm pretty sure I was wearing big ass panties and a tank top sans bra for a while after birth.i put on sweatpants if I had someone coming over, still no bra.

  • There should be a caption that says "these sexy lingerie panties are filling up with postpartum blood as I snap this selfie"
