So I'm 21 weeks pregnant and have been diagnosed with complete placenta previa at the moment and a cord problem called VCI.
With these issues I have been told to refrain from exercise and lifting more than 20 pounds. My toddler is 2 years old and weights 27-28 pounds. I normally do daycare pickups, and yesterday I was able to park in a parking spot very close to the front door and had him walk out with me. I had to pick him up to put him in the car seat, though.
Even though putting him in the car seat is a relatively quick motion, DH is very adamant about not wanting me to do that anymore, which I understand. Our last pregnancy ended in a loss (we don't know why the loss happened) and I don't want it to happen again. However, it's not really typical for DH to be able to do pick ups b/c with traffic he is an hour away, it's something I've been handling just b/c my office is closer so I can pick DS up at 5:30 vs. DH would have to pick him up at 6:00 or later (deadline for pick up is 6:30 but I really don't want to leave DS that long).
DH wants me to ask if someone at the DC can put DS into the carseat for me...on the one hand I see this as a reasonable request b/c it should only take a moment, but I haven't asked yet b/c I just am feeling like it would also be an imposition that may be more burdensome than it seems. When we pick up at 5:30 pm there aren't all that many kids left. Certainly there are some, but not a lot. But every staff member there is doing something and I kind of feel like they would be too busy to help with this and we should figure it out. Thoughts?

Re: Problems with DC pickup--literally.
Sometimes dh can leave work early but sometimes he's in court and he just can't.
Thanks y'all so much for the responses...I really did feel odd about asking; maybe i really felt more weird about explaining. I didn't go into it terribly much, I just said I was having complications and I had a lifting restriction and they said they would help.
ITA. Not a board regular, but I happened to see your post. I had a complete previa at 20 weeks, and I had the same restrictions. Even though DD2 is small for her age, she was able to climb in and out of her seat. Sometimes I gave her a little boost. My previa resolved by 28 weeks. Hope yours does, too!
