Multiples

Hello!

I'm mostly a lurker around here but I just wanted to pop in and say hi. I'm currently in a state of transition in my life--my H and I recently moved to a different state, bought a house and just found out that we're expecting twins (exciting and scary!). Not sure how that happened as I've always been diligent about taking my bc pills, but even if it's a little sooner than we had planned on starting a family we're excited.

Anyways, If you don't mind me asking, I was wondering how big your little ones were when they were born. I'm a petite person (4'11") and I have a really short torso so I have no idea how my body is going to manage this, haha. I've got a ton of research ahead of me, but I'd love to get an idea of what to maybe expect.

I've also been a vegetarian since I was about 10, so if anyone has any tips or pointers nutrition-wise, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks so much!

Re: Hello!

  • Wow!  Welcome and congratulations on everything!  We have surprise twins, too (but I stopped taking my BC pills).  I am a first time mom (FTM) so don't have experience with the babe's weight. Everyone carries and measures differently though.  Good luck!

  • Thanks everyone! Congrats on all your little ones.

It's scary but exciting at the same time. :) I'm amazed at how big some of your twins were--I was just over 5 lbs when I was born according to my mom so this will be interesting for sure--maybe these guys will take after DH's family and be big babies too--that's a scary thought, haha.
  • Welcome! My twins were a surprise pregnancy too but I have 3 other kids. I'm 5'2 and you'll be amazed at how your body changes during any pregnancy. Some are really cool and others will make you go wtf!
Protein, protein, protein and water, water, water. I drink 3 boost plus a day and my mo/di girls are growing like crazy. You can also ask your mfm or ob for the name of a nutritionalist they work with. Good luck and post often! The ladies here are all so nice.

Welcome! Bodies are amazing...I'm your height and made it to 37wks. Mind you it wasn't very pretty (I was about as round as I am tall!) but it was doable. :) If you have any questions, feel free to ask/PM me about it.
