Hi ladies,
Just looking for a little support...
I intro'd myself last week. I had a missed miscarriage in August, and am now 5 weeks 5 days pregnant. (I also have a DS, 7, and a DD, 5).
When I called my dr's office after a positive pregnancy test, they had me come right in for blood work (really early!). My HCG has been doubling nicely...until today's draw. Also...my progesterone dipped down to13.5. My dr wasn't overly concerned but gave me supplements to play it safe. Today, my progesterone is up to 17, but my HCG had a doubling time of 51 hrs. The nurse seems pretty concerned with this. I've also had a mild ache on one side...the dr's guess was a corpus luteum cyst...but all of these have compounded and have me in break down mode.
3 weeks 6 days - HCG 51
4 weeks 1 day - HCG 185
4 weeks 6 days - HCG 1,646
5 weeks 5 days - HCG 11,443
I will have an ultrasound tomorrow to confirm that the sac is there...and in the right spot.
Sorry for the novel...and thanks for reading. I know I just need to wait and see how it goes, but I had to get this out. The miscarriage itself was, of course, unbelievably difficult. I never imagined, though, how tough this part would be. ![]()
UPDATE: It appears to be good news!!! I had my ultrasound today, and the tech and the dr reading the ultrasound were fantastic! The doctor said everything is in the right place and forming just as it should. YAY! He was not at all concerned with my numbers because, as you smart ladies said, they won't continue to double as quickly now that the are over 11,000. I forgot to ask him about the low progesterone, but I'm assuming all is fine. The last test it was up to 17 - never got below 12.4 - and the ultrasound looked good. He estimated me at 5 weeks and 3 or 4 days, which is about 2 days off what I had thought, but again, he wasn't worried. He scheduled me for a follow up scan next week and said, "Next week? We see the heartbeat!" So relieved. Keep growing, little bean! Thanks again for the support. As I'm sure you already know...it means so much...especially coming from women who really do understand.
