This is not bump related, but could use all of the positive thoughts and prayers we can possibly get. Just received word that my older brother went to the ER last night for what he thought were pains related to a stomach bug. After some CT scans they found spots on his liver and kidneys which they believe to be cancerous. He is 41 and extremely healthy and active, so this has come as a shock to us all. I haven't seen him in a couple years and he was planning on coming here for Christmas with his family... He was looking forward to meeting my husband for the first time and seeing his baby sisters massive belly.

The positive thing is that they've found it, so they can do their best to get rid of it. I wish your brother all the best and you will all come through it.

My SIL is a nurse and was saying that it is very rare for someone with no history of abdominal issues to have had the blockage he did in his intestines that brought him to the ER originally. If it wasn't for that blockage he would have never had the CT scan that revealed the mass in his kidney and the lesions on his liver. So, what a strange blessing in disguise.
The mass on his kidney is definitely cancerous, however the lesions on his liver are benign hemangiomas....which is just a fancy name for something we don't need to worry about.
He won't need chemo or radiation and because the mass in his kidney is so small and confined, they will be able to simply remove the kidney and he can return to life as normal.
I am beyond grateful for my family and friends (and even you, my fellow May mommas!) because life can change in an instant.
And , although our views may differ (it's ok, i'll still find it in my heart to tolerate you.
:P ) this weekend was ultimately proof that God works in crazy ways and sometimes we have to go down a rough road to get to the smooth one.
