Fussiness

I remember when our lo's were born, there were quite a few of us with fussy babies in the evening. Witching hour is still going on most nights in our house! I thought this would improve by now..at least I was hoping for that! Lo will be 4 months on the 20th. Crossing my fingers that it will end any day now. Anyone else still dealing with this?

Re: Fussiness

  • Yes, yes we are! DD has been fighting sleep like no other. After 6pm she turns into a monster. She is 4 months and 1 week. I think we may have one of those babies that becomes less fussy around 6 months instead of 3. It's tough, but just keep remembering it doesn't last forever!

  • You're not alone!!! Minus a few random 'off' days.. LO is still a terror around 6 or 7 most nights..maybe he'll skip the terrible twos instead?

  • My LO is 4 months and a couple of days, (born July 31st,) and she is still fussy in the early evening but doesn't cry like she used to. She does tend to take a bunch of small meals gearing up for bedtime. She has replaced the crying in the evening with waking every 90 minutes overnight.

  • LO goes down for the night around 7 and sleeps 11 to 12 hours straight.  We only have a small timeframe of fussiness between 6 and 7 as we get her ready for bed. However, she HATES to go down for a nap and gives us hell for those during the day. She is obviously tired and needs a nap, but she fights them until the death. She will cry in the swing, in our arms, wherever.  She used to take a paci and fall asleep if I rocked her, but she is boycotting all of that right now. I guess we need to try and start putting her down earlier to try and sleep. She's such a happy baby once she naps but getting those naps is a pain in the butt.

  • I think I discovered that her witching hour was just her being over tired. We moved bedtime to 8 (which is when she used to he fussy) and haven't really had issues since. That being said she has no trouble telling me that she HATES bedtime if it's ANY later than 8 for ANY reason. Gah!

  • LO freaks if she is up past 7. We do bath, bottle, and then bed starting at 6:30. She takes an hour morning nap and a 2 hour afternoon nap.

  • My lo fights sleep if he is flat on his back, tummy side elevated hes fine. Once hes flat he looses it.

  • Yep she still goes bsc around 6pm. I'm with @nikkid522, just keeping my fingers crossed this means she'll skip the terrible twos.

  • Remember that thread yesterday when I said DS had been downright pleasant? Yeah, he must've found out I made that information public because last night & tonight have been total hell.
Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Only 17.8 more years till he goes off to college, right? ;-)
