Have a cold...help!

Hi ladies!

  This lovely Michigan weather has made it hard for me! I think I heard your more likely to get sick when prego too. I am just on prenatal vitamins but I'm sure it's safe to take more vitamin c when sick.  I know there are some meds I'm not allowed to take and others I can.  Though they say there is no cure for the common cold what kinds of things are you or planning on doing to help fight it off?

I have runny nose, sneezing at the moment.... I like the brand coldeeze I forgot what's in them but you suck on them I think or chew and you can get rid of a cold in like a couple of days!  I have some oj here, soup, what else??

    Holistically you can always use the netti-pot, drink PLENTY of fluids, take a D3 5000unit daily, get lots and lots of sleep and try not to stress out (which lowers your immune system). I've fought off my hubby's cold last month but I can feel the sharp tickle in the back of my throat now. I'll be so pissed if a patient got me sick!

    I'll have to look up what a nettipot is, I've heard of it but forgot what it is lol. I do use essential oils and have a diffuser which I have not used in a couple weeks, need to put some purification in there to purify my air and maybe some thieves which helps with this stuff.

    I've been getting more sleep than I ever have lol I used to do the sleep 1am-9am and not take naps, now it's more the 9pm-9am lol and an hr nap a day! This prego thing is tiring!

    I'll look up some of your other suggestions, thanks for the posts so far! Keep them coming!

    As for MI, I live 1/2 hr or so North of Detroit.. in what we call the real O.C, Oakland County. Where in SE MI are your peeps from? My best friend moved from MI to AZ to CO, and now they are moving back to AZ for a couple years and then back to MI for good lol

    I'm a fan of the essential oils too.  I always throw in some purification in the humidifier when DS or I starts feeling sick.  Sometimes I'll switch it up and use Thieves.  Last week I started to pick up DS's cold, so I put some lemon oil on my throat before bed to help soothe/prevent my throat from getting sore from the post nasal drip.  I also put lavender on the bottom of my feet.  Within 2 days I felt better.

    FWIW (not cold related), I also use frankincense on my tummy for stretch marks.  I saw a noticeable improvement after DS was born when I did that and I've already started it for this time around.

    I'm feeling rubbish with the flu ATM but my doctor won't prescribe me anything and pharmacists are reluctant to sell anything to pregnant women over here so I'm stuck :/ x
