Are any of your LO's using them? If so, what do you think?
My LO is teething at the moment and is extremely fussy and you can tell she's in pain. I Would love to hear if you are using it, if you will be, or if BTDT moms have.
We 100% will be. The 6 moms in the older mommy n me group we are in swear by them. A dad my husband works with swore that's why he had no problems as well!
Heres a great q&a thread from June 2011 on Amber Necklaces. A lot of girls bought from inspired by Finn and were very happy with them. You have to be careful on amazon or eBay because you could get a fake.
My friends little guy uses one, it seems to look fine on him. I think you can get bracelets (correct me if I'm wrong) which might be easier to hide under clothing
I am going to look into them. My only concern is the choking hazard esp if the necklace breaks. Of course I'd be paying attention to him wearing it but babies have a funny way of sneaking things the one second you turn your eye away.
I haven't seen one in person, so I am not even sure if my concern is totally valid.
I have one on each of my girlies. (Actually 2 but they only wear 1 at a time.)
Buy LIGHT and UNPOLISHED for highest efficacy.
I bought 2 from somewhere and else and have purchased 2 from Amazon through "The Art of Cure". I was extremely happy with the quality of the "The Art of Cure" ones purchased on Amazon and would not hesitate to buy one from that particular company again.
My cousin bought one of the multicolored unpolished for her little boy and put it around his ankle wrapped several times - He looks like an little adorable surfer in it.
I just looked at the art of cute ones and some of the newer reviews list getting fake beads. There are a lot of good reviews so I want to believe those ones but I might go with the inspired by Finn ones.
I'm really on the fence about using an amber necklace. Although I LOVE the idea of a natural, low maintenance way to help ease teething discomforts, I'm not sure about the potential strangulation/choking hazard. Looks like I need to do some homework.
I purchased DD1's from Inspired by Finn, was happy with the, and will be purchasing from them again.
You want the yellowish color.
Each bead should be tied off separately from the necklace so if it breaks only one can fall off.
@mrsl any idea how long you can use it till it needs to be recharged in the sun?
I think the store I went to had yellowy ones, but if they are a bit darker would it be worth buying?
I was just searching on Google and looks like there is mixed reviews on this. Some say laying it in the sun is bad and others say a few hours every couple weeks...?!?!?
The Art of Cure!!! They came highly recommended and I ordered one for LO and one for myself. (I can't make her do something if I haven't tried it m'self) we will see how it works.
I have one for DD, but at what age is a good time to put it on her? Do you start when they start to teeth or before? I feel like 3.5 months is too young?

I'm going to assume any age. LO is 3 months and I've put it on her (I bought one yesterday) she's starting to teeth, so I figure it's an appropriate time to have it on. That's what it's meant for, so might as well use it

most are made as breakaway necklaces, also, you wrap it around their ankle at night to avoid choking.

My older son wasn't too miserable while teething and loved gnawing on Sophie or cool washcloths. Hoping for another easy teether.
Plus I keep getting an image of spencer from The Hills when I think of them.
