High-Risk Pregnancy

SPD (not really high risk I know...)

So I haven't been on here for awhile. But pregnant with #2 now. SPD has reared it's ugly head again & I really need some new ideas. I see my chiro every week, acupuncture every week, rest as much as possible, & new SI belt on the way. But on the days I work I'm in soooo much pain. It's a retail job where I'm on my feet 8-9 hours a day. I'm fine at work but as soon as I get home I'm out of commission for about 24 hours & lingering pain for the next day or 2. Each week the pain lingers longer & is worse. I fear a walker or wheelchair is in my future this time around. The midwife has offered Percocet but I'm not there yet. We're going to try some homeopathic remedies first, I expect to hear back from her tomorrow or Monday hopefully. I'm supposed to be exercising to hopefully prevent/lessen GD this time but I physically can't. Icing the area isn't really that fun but I do it when I can. PT didn't help last time, made it worse. So anyone have anything I haven't tried? Or am I just s**t out of luck?

Oh my gosh, I totally feel your pain! I had SPD and GD with my last pregnancy, what a horrible combination! My doctor would say even walking 10 minutes a day will help regulate blood sugar, and I could barely walk from the pain of the SPD. Anyway, I did do physical therapy at a practice that specializes in pregnant women. While it didn't totally take away the pain, I felt like it was more manageable. Maybe you could try a different PT this time around?

Sorry I don't have any other advice. I feel like I will be in your shoes soon enough with this pregnancy. Good luck with everything!
