I posted a couple of weeks ago about LO's GI dr wanting to do an endoscopy. Still having reflux issues despite being on 2 meds (Prilosec and Zantac) and on nutramigen for possible MPSI and he thought her reflux would have gone away by now (she's 12 months adjusted). So he wanted to make sure nothing else is going on. The procedure went smoothly. She handled it better than we did. They gave her some liquid stuff before wheeling her into the surgery area to relax her. She was sitting up looking around but didn't put up a fuss as they wheeled her out of the room and they used gas for the procedure. She had a "barking cough" for a couple of days after which they told us was expected from having the breathing tube and the camera it probably irritated the back of her throat. Area looked normal under the cameras and biopsy results just came back normal. They took tissue samples from esophogus, stomach, and small intestine. So no other allergies that could be contributing to reflux (they were thinking possible celiac). I'm glad everything looked good. So now we just continue with meds and hope for reflux to go away. We'll see our GI dr again in 3 months. A part of me is hoping that the reflux will magically disappear once she starts walking (she's crawling and cruising but no walking yet). Here's hoping!
