April 2014 Moms

Your comedic relief for the day

Now I need you to picture this scene; I was cleaning out the duck coup today and one of my ducks got loose. Now imagine a very large pregnant woman chasing after a duck in the snow while her soon to be ex-husband watches and laughs. Anyone else struggling with farm chores? 2 hours work and I am spent.

Re: Your comedic relief for the day

  • Lol!  No farming for me. What a jerk he just laughed instead of helping you.  Ugh.  But I did enjoy that image you gave me, thank you!

  • Oh that sucks. I've been trying to be cautious around the in-laws goose, ducks and goats. I haven't gone in the goat pen since I've been pregnant because they get so excited about being fed. They try to jump all over you. I miss picking up the babies and cuddling them. Our dogs massacred our chickens last month so we have gotten a break from doing any farm chores.

TP to the hubs for not helping you.
  • Im guessing hes a soon to be ex because he was laughing at you????? (tongue in cheek???)

Men are annoying!!! but thank you for the amusing imagery!!!

  • Awww that makes me miss my ducks! It used to take me forever to get them back in if they got out of the fence. So funny.

  • God bless you and all the other hard working future moms on here I thought my day was tough but not nearly as tough as that!

  • Love it :) So would this be considered a first world problem, a second world problem, or an A14 problem?

No worries, my dog has been testing my patience lately, digging out from our fence, and of course he loves to run to the neighboring trailer park... I have had at least two super klassy episodes of chasing him down in the trailer park, yelling my head off at him because his recall sucks (in my pajamas because we all know flannel pants are so much comfier).
  • Surely chasing ducks around is second world problem! First world would complain that Amazon prime wont express deliver gourmet duck breasts direct from a hormone and cage free farm in the middle of Switzerland on the same day!

****I know Amazon doesn't do meat products but I don't know of any website in the US that does so used Amazon for illustration****

  • I've been making DH get up in the morning to take care of my goats.... I need lots of sleep. He's a good sport and is doing evening chores most nights for me as well, even though I'm feeling better and could probably do it for a while until I get rounder...
  • Farm girl problems, I like that. I would like to include a daily battle with a weird ass rooster who insists on sitting on my eggs.
  • When separating the cows for the vet to come in, I usually stand by one gate and the one day the bull was licking my jacket (we're pals) and the one farmer's son just said to me "You're one of his pregnant bitches now"

at least i dont have to worry about him coming after me when i ovulate.

definitely empathize with the girls, getting knocked up and milked.

Our boar used to goose me but he's stopped now that I'm pregnant. Ha! I wonder if this is why. He still uses me as a scratching post though. I'm gonna have to be more careful as I get bigger.
