Water..!?!

Ok, getting really bored/tired of water, water, water.... Tried lemon which helps some although,

I would probably shank someone for an ICEE right now....
(Ok maybe not...but it's getting close.)
Anyone have any helpful hints....orrrrr know of the closest place that sells ICEE textured flavored water!?!?

Happy Sunday Ladies! :)

Re: Water..!?!

  • Mmm Icee!  I am just now a little better at drinking water without getting sick.  I drank a lot of juice before and I'm now using that Mio stuff.  It helps it to be manageable.

  • I find that I have to have a lot of ice in my water to make it drinkable. Then i spice things up sometimes with an iced tea (unsweetened) or home made lemonade or limeade.

  • I lived on sparkling water and ginger ale for a while. I couldn't tolerate juice.

  • @ns1 does Mio have sugar in it or artifical sweetner? I've never tried it that might be a good trick for some yummy taste!

Not sure if this will work for y'all on your computer. Just look for slushy magic! It's at Walmart and probably bed bath and beyond and target and amazon.
  • @GRC6713 hmm. I'm looking at the bottle now and it does say less than 2% of sucralose and acesulfame potassium (sweeteners)...maybe that's bad. Can anyone translate that?

  • I also put mint leaves in my water and other fruits besides lemon to spice things up. Or cut it with some juice so you're not taking in a ton of sugar and want more water.
  • Countrytime lemonade for me. Lemon water is also nice. Or cucumber water. Refreshing!
  • Haven't tried cucumber or mint! Love those ideas! Thanks for all of the ideas! I know we are all in similar boats...Trying to do what is best and healthiest! :)
  • I had an Icee from Target yesterday, it was divine!

  • I drink a ton of water but also other drinks: juice, icees, and an occasional soda. I have found that sparkling water is divine! Add a little juice and you're set!

  • I slice up one apple and put it in a pitcher with cinnamon sticks.... Saw that on Pinterest and it's really good. But I'm a water drinker anyway...I don't like soda.

  • I have an occasional root beer or cream soda- something with no caffeine even though I know we can have some, I haven't. Orrrr- fruity Popsicles have sounded really good lately. You can even make homemade ones using juice (they make special trays but you can use ice trays with tooth picks)
  • I used to drink Crystal Light for years before being educated about artificial sweetners.  I stopped a couple of years ago but still like to flavor my water when I am sick of plain water. I found the True Lemon brand, which are in packets similar to Cystal Light that you can put in your water. No artifical sweetners or colors, 100% natural ingredients, no preservatives. 0 calories/carbs/sugars/gluten free. They come in several flavors and are super yummy. I order from Amazon because I've never been able to find at a store near me (a friend in a different state introduced me once when I was visiting)..

PS - fast forward to next summer after we have our babies... remember this as a low-calorie alcoholic drink mixer as well.  When I was trying to lose weight but wanted to have a drink or two I would drink a shot of vodka with 8oz water and a packet of true lemon...hydration + low calorie drinky treat = happy mamma:)

what's stopping you from having an icee?  or anything besides water?  There is no rule that says the only liquid you can drink during pregnancy is water.

I've had one. And I do drink milk and juice other than water.... Just looking for healthy yummy ways to flavor water!

@smdukes totally going to check that out! Thanks so much!! And yes I'm thinking a little bit of that with some coconut rum next summer.... Mmm!!! :)

I don't know how bad it is, but I do have Mio sometimes. I just try not to overdo it. I have otherwise cut out all beverages with artificial sweeteners, as well as the use of Splenda packets, so hopefully that helps some. For a few weeks I could only stomach flavored water and this is what I had at home!

  • Sparkling Water has definitely been my drink of choice! La Croix grapefruit is my favorite!!!
  • I've had a lot of nausea and vomiting and water has been almost guaranteed to make me puke (although it's all I drank pre-pregnancy). One my friends recommended slicing ginger really thin and adding it to a pitcher of water along with lemon, fresh mint, and cucumber. It's a wonderful infusion and I've been able to tolerate it better than plain water.

  • @stephierd81 Thanks! I love those ideas!! That's what I was looking for more natural yummy ideas! I loved water before pregnancy and I've never been a huge soda drinker but it just seems hard to tolerate water these days.... So weird! :)
  • There's a lot written about artificial sweeteners and other additives like Mio. Food Babe is kinda crazy about it but you can get some info.
I like LaCroix waters they are natural, and come flavored like grapefruit, berry etc they are pretty good.
  • @smdukes I LOVE TrueLemon. I discovered it at a their booth st home and gardens show about 10 years ago. Do you have Wegmanns? I've seen them there but they sell them in most of our grocery stores here in MD

I add orange, lemon, or grapefruit essential oils to my water. For a little sweetness, half a pinch of stevia. Delicious!! (Oh and I use Doterra oils. They are FDA approved for consumption.)
  • I can't stand plain water, so I drink just sparkling mineral water . Easy on my stomach, or mix it half with juice/carbonated water

Food Babe is more than kind of crazy and not a site to read if you want valid info, unfortunately.

Ummmm... Mine might be an ICEE junky... Oh no!! Lol!! ;)
  • Water is my nemesis.

I add frozen lemon slices...it has to be ICE cold...and now I mix some Limeade in there.

But man do I love me some juice.  My Midwife hates me for me.  But it's sooooo goooood.  And chocolate milk.  With whole milk.

    I'm thirsty.
