Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Breaking a bad habit

My son is almost 4 mths old, and since about 2 mths. I have let him sleep in bed with my husband and I. I already know this is a big no,no, and to ease your mind, nothing has ever come close to happening. But, I know it's time to break the habit and have him sleep in his own bed. We have a Pac n Play that has a bassinet attached and vibrates. He responded well to sleeping in the bassinet, but now that he can roll over and sit up on his own, last night we decided to have him sleep in the bigger part of the pnp, it didn't go so well. I think because he is so used to sleeping next to me cuddled up or in the bassinet that's a confined space, he didn't like all the openness. He also hates to be swaddled so that's a no go too. I need some help and tips of how to break him of sleeping with me and in the pnp so we can all sleep better!

Re: Breaking a bad habit

  • this is exactly what is happening with us to. However he just turned 3 months. We have had some luck rolling up towels and putting a blanket over the rolled up towels keeps him in a more confined area. Its not the answer...but it helps for most of the night....Any more suggestions are welcome.
