Intro and ? Has anyone taken Indomethacin?

Hi Ladies,
I was hoping not to be back here for this pregnancy, but it looks like I am. I have a history of pre-term labor and it seems like this pregnancy will be no different. I start 17P shots this week and started having contractions last week. My cervix was shortening at this week's check so I'm looking at the possibility of a cerclage. My MFM is putting me on Indomethacin for 48 hours to try and calm my uterus. I'm just wondering if any of you have taken that and what I can expect?

    Hi there, so sorry you have to join the HR board, I hope things start to calm down for you.  I've been on Indocin long term, for about 8 weeks.  I just went off because I hit 32 weeks.  It was really a wonder drug for me.  I too am being monitored and treated for IC and PTL.  My cervix funneled all the way down to the external OS and I dilated slightly around 24 weeks.  I was put on Indocin and my cervix collapsed on itself which was so great to see on US and helped alleviate pressure.  Prior to being on long term, I had been given it was a rescue twice during bouts of contractions, and it seemed to knock them out as well.  Best of luck to you!

    I just had a cerclage placed on Friday and was on that medicine for the day before and 2 days after. I had no issues with it, it seemed to help me more than my prescribed pain reliever.

    Thanks, ladies! I was on bed rest for 12 weeks with my last pregnancy and started dilating and funneling around 23 weeks. I was hospitalized and given steroids. I would like to avoid all of that if possible this time.
