Question for Helmet mamas

LO gets her helmet on Thursday and I've been wondering what to do about winter wear. We live in Ohio and it's already hat and glove weather. The helmet still leaves her ears exposed. What do I do, buy a larger one and put it over top, or get one with the ear flaps that come down?? Any input or advice is appriciated, thanks

We have a coat from Carters with a big hood that goes over top of the helmet. I think a hat is not a good idea for overheating. He still got a double ear infection though, but I think that has been in the works since about the same time he got his helmet though.

what state are you in? is that jacket warm enough for Ohio winters. I have a carseat cover on her too

I live in NC but am originally from WNY. I am actually in the car driving home. We stayed in NY for 8 days. I bought something like this last year at the end of the season from Gap for baby to wear while we visited. We just put the hood up over his head and helmet when we went outside. We also used a car seat cover when he was in the car seat outside.

I am in Michigan but originally from Ohio. Same exact winters. It is very warm coat. Plus with the car seat cover she will be really toasty. You have to be careful though they tend to run really warm with the helmet so make sure to unzip the car seat cover as soon as she is in the car.
