Bottles/gas question

So, is gas still a big issue for babies at this age or not? LO gets bottles while I'm at work and we use the dr brown bottles. I am wondering if the anti-gas valves in the middle are still necessary or if we can just put the nipple on the pump bottles? I mean, they can drink from sippy cups soon, right? What do you think?

Re: Bottles/gas question

  • Are you talking about leaving the white and blue parts out of the middle of the Dr. Brown's bottles and using the bottle without them? Cuz they leak that way, if that's what you're talking about.
If you're talking using your medela bottles (or whatever brand) now, then I say go for it! J drinks out of anything now. Doesn't hurt to try right?

  • Yea, the nipples will fit in my ameda bottles. And thanks for the feedback on both the leaking issue and the pump bottles!

  • I've always just put a nipple onto my medela pumping bottles. No issues here. I'd use Dr Browns if I was using formula but until then I'm too lazy to wash anything else.
  • Awesome. Thanks ladies!
