newborn covers: what's best for long, skinny babies

I am shopping for my newborn CD stash of prefolds and covers.  I did not CD in the the newborn stage with DS, so I am new to this. I am not sure what covers to try.  DS has always been long and skinny: 7.2 at birth and 11lbs at 3 months.

Bummis Super Brite: Is it best to get the Newborn size (fits 4-9lbs) or is it ok to buy the Smalls for a newborn (fit 8-16lbs) so I can get longer use out of them?

Bummis pull-on:  Has anyone tried these?

Thirsties Duo: Do the size 1 covers fit long skinny newborns well (7-ish lbs)?

Imagine NB Covers: These are cheap.  Has anyone used them?

Assunta Tiny Diaper Cover: Any thoughts on these cheap covers?

Prowraps Classic:  The newborn cord cutout sounds nice.  Is it best to get the NB or Small size?

    I was told GroVia newborn AIO's are great for skinny babies, so I ordered a few of those to try because I'm anticipating that my daughter will be built the same as DS who had the tiniest little stick legs until 3 mos. when he started bulking up. They look to be very trim and if you watch the YouTube reviews, you can see just how tiny the waist and leg holes are.

    For a long skinny baby, I would go with the Duo size 1 in aplix. Buy new on this one, though, since Thirsties just upgraded their aplix (the old style is awful).

    While I loved Proraps, the aplix does not overlap, so it would not be a good choice for a skinny baby.

    Bummis Super Brite newborn is really tiny...but the small will likely be too big for a skinny nb.

    I don't have any experience with any of the other covers you mention, but I hope this helps.

    My LO is 3 weeks tomorrow and weighs about 6lbs 12 oz.  We are using the tiny assuntas and I love them.  the Thirsties 1 is a bit bigger, but the assuntas fit very well and will still fit for a long time since I'm using them snapped down still.

    I loved our NB Bummis Super Brite! Don't get the smalls. They are a huge jump from the NB. :)

    My LO is 4 weeks and at last weigh in was 7 pounds, 6 ounces.  She has super skinny legs and the thirsties covers are still too big in the leg holes for her.
