NBR: Gift for my assistant

I've had an undergraduate student as my part-time assistant since summer, and she's been an awesome worker as well as just a really sweet person. I want to get her something for Christmas but I'm a little bit at a loss.

She's into photography as a hobby but doesn't have a DSLR or anything though I've been sending her out with the office camera to practice, and I know she likes Starbucks because she's always got something from there when she works mornings. She also seems to like some of the same music I do since she's commented on quite a few songs I have playing at work. Any ideas?

    It may be boring but a gift card to Starbucks is always good! I assume she probably isn't making a boatload of money and those drinks get expensive!

    I usually get my secretary a Starbucks gc and a yankee candle. We also got my Mom a subscription on a photography magazine. It was like $10 for a year.

    What's your budget?  Amazon GCs are useful for pretty much everything.  Or - salon services is something I skimped on big time when I was in college and poor and I loved getting treated there.

    Yeah that was going to be my last resort... but we have a Starbucks on campus and she uses her meal card to buy stuff from there, so not sure she actually *needs* a Starbucks gift card.

    Also not sure if any stores where you are have this type of program but our local grocery store has a huge selection of gift cards. If you buy one of the giant eagle (the grocery store) gift cards the person receiving it can then use it to purchase whatever gift card they want. Kinda like a visa gc without the fee!

    starbucks or maybe a best buy gift card so she could put toward a camera? Not sure what you were thinking of spending.

    (on a side note thanks for the reminder, I have a grad assistant and 3 undergrads that I didn't even remember!)
