Anyone have a hole to crawl into?

Does anyone else feel like they want to just crawl in a hole and not come out until these babies arrive?

I've been able to keep my depression at bay for most of this pregnancy, but DAMN I am in a funk. I don't want to see anyone, talk to anyone, get dressed, go anywhere.....UGH!!

Re: Anyone have a hole to crawl into?

  • Have you talked to your doctor about this lately? I think it's worth mentioning to him/her especially if you have a history of depression.

  • Depression during pregnancy is pretty common. You should talk to your OB/midwife about it, cause they see it a lot and will have good advice. Depending on how bad it is, they could refer you to a specialist, prescribe something that's safe during pregnancy, or just help you figure out some lifestyle changes.

  • It is very easy to get into a funk when you feel so tired & uncomfortable most of the day!  It can be hard to get out of it though!

Try forcing yourself to focus on a task where you can feel like you achieved/completed something. Or just get out of the house to do something fun.  That helped me a little bit!

  • I feel this way, but its because I'm sore, grumpy, and frankly, I prefer not to wear pants.

I agree with pps though, mention it to your OB just so they know to keep an eye on you!

  • Thanks so much ladies....I actually take an anti-depressant and think it has to do more with being swollen and in pain. I think I need to find a craft or something to keep my cranky ass occupied.

And not to be sappy, but I must say how much I LOVE this board and all you lovely ladies!
  • I hear ya sista. I've been pretty anxious these days as well. Do/watch something you love! I can't run but I can put on my Missy Elliot pandora station and dance around belly all out OR watch Bradley Cooper in A-Team back to back. Whatever works!

  • I'm with you. The stretch from Thanksgiving to Christmas is hard for me and the Oregon hormones are not making it any better this year. Talking to your OB is a good thing to do as well as trying to find something positive to channel your energy into. For example, I forced myself to grade papers the other day in exchange for some time scrap booking. Got work done and got to do something fun for myself plus I felt a little better. Hugs to you and hope you're doing better.
