Pregnant after IF

Too soon or IF brain?

Hey ladies. Happy sunday! Hope your all doing well.

Yesterday I organized LO's closet, finally took all the tags off and took out all the newborn and 0-3 months to wash. But I got kinda scared to take tags off but dh told me to do it. And now I'm terrified to wash clothes, I'm scared i'll jinx or occur some bad luck.

Is it too soon? I'm trying to get the ball rolling here. Today I'm 32 weeks and although this is our first, I totally feel like ima pop early. I'm so uncomfy, been having contractions daily, and I can feel so much pressure. When I walk thru stores I can't go with out stopping or sitting because all the pressure.

So what do you girls think? Is it all IF brain?

Here's pics of what I've put together so far...

Re: Too soon or IF brain?

  • Wow that is a lot of clothes!  It all looks really cute and nicely organized! I don't know enough to be able to answer your other questions but IF brain does seem to get the worst of most of us!

  • Oh that's super cute! More organized than my closet, haha :) I know it's hard, but just try to enjoy this moment. IF takes so much away from us! Just enjoy these little things!

  • Girl do it now! The longer you wait, the harder physically it will be to accomplish. You aren't jinxing anything, you're preparing. Have fun!

  • Thanks ladies. I have only her closet semi done. Dh still has to paint, him and my mom are doing that dec. 15. So once that's done, ill get him and my mom to move everything into place. IF brain sucks so bad. But I agree, I'm so uncomfortable now, If I keep waiting, ill be a lot worse. Doing the closet was SO much work. I constantly stopped and sat down, took me 2 hours. Once I was done, I showered and went straight to sleep.

Plus we still need crib blankets, towels, I decided on a mesh breathable bumper, and humidifier. Yikes.

  • I love what you have done!

By 32 weeks, your chances of not getting your take-home baby are astronomically low...especially if your pregnancy has been normal up to this point.  I had pre-e and IUGR thrown in the mix and I still made it to 37 weeks with LO only spending one night in the NICU.  Even if you suddenly went in to pre-term labor NOW and had the baby, the odds are still in your favor that long-term your baby would be ok. (I am not in anyway downplaying the struggles of Moms who have LO's at 32 weeks because that is tough, but the long-term prognosis is good.)

  • Squee!  That looks so cute and organized!  I know, everything thing I do, I'm afraid I'll jinx it.  But, my therapist told me last week...my thoughts just aren't that powerful.  I try to keep that in mind.  I hope you can enjoy the last stretch of pregnancy.
I LOVE that quote from your therapist.  I'm going to remember that one since I am also really superstitious!

  • I agree with PPs that the odds of anything going wrong are so miniscule, that you shouldn't worry about it.  It will be exciting to get the clothes ready for her.  And your closet looks great!  So many cute-looking clothes.
