It being Cyber Monday and all, I'm thinking of pulling the trigger and buying myself a tablet. Specifically, the Kindle Fire HDX. So, being that I've seen alot of you gals mentioning your Bumping from various tablets. Please tell me: What tablet do you own? Do you love yours? Hate it? Pros & Cons? My only hesitation is that I already own a PC, a Smart TV, and an Iphone. However, I love to read, own a shit ton of books, have limited space for said library, and it's kind of a bitch to hold a book over LO's head while he's on the boob (which he seems to be constantly as of late). What would you do?

I don't have a tablet so can't help there.
As for the holding a book over LOs head I have a kindle and the kindle app on my phone. It is a lifesaver.

We have a Samsung tablet and a Nook. I'm using the tablet right now to read Catching Fire. I read it aloud to d.d. for naps and it puts her to sleep, haha. I also have a laptop, d.h. has a laptop, we have a smart tv, and both have smart phones. Still use the tablet to read.

I can't really think of any cons.

What's your main purpose for the tablet? Is it reading or general other stuff?

If it's reading I'd highly recommend a normal Kindle like the paperwhite or previous versions. The e-ink is really the best for reading. I also have an iPad and use it a ton for email, surfing and watching videos etc but when it comes to reading I use the kindle. I've used the iPad in a pinch but I don't like reading long on it.

I have the Kindle something or other and love it. I also have some sort of Android tablet, it's a little big but I also like it.

I can't speak towards the current versions on the market, but I have an older Kindle Touch (2-3 years old ) and LOVE it for reading. I also read using the Kindle and Overdrive (borrow Ebooks from our library for free!) apps on my iPhone 4S. Love the versatility! DH has the first generation Kindle Fire, and I really don't care for it (shiny screen hurts my eyes while reading, movies seem dark, poor sound quality, and slow internet speed). It did not live up to all the hype at the time, but perhaps newer editions are better.

If your main purpose is reading, get an old fashioned ink e-reader without the bells and whistles (bare bones Kindle or Nook) so that you can read without a glare (even outside in the sun). Also, super long battery life! If you want to watch movies, bump, or surf the web, a more techie device might be a better option. Good luck with your decision!

I love the kindle paper white. No glare when reading outside, and I can read in bed easily. We also have an iPad but I find little use for it between my iPhone and laptop.

I love my ipad. I'd never buy any other kind of tablet.. that's how much I love and use it. It's pretty much just the most awesome tablet available. Ok, I may be a bit biased
