Love the photo! My DD is fine with Santa "in theory" but as soon as she sees him at the mall she goes into Barnacle Mode and I can't peel her off me to save my life. Maybe when she's a teenager we'll get a Santa photo.... :-P
We decided to wait and see how he reacts to the mall characters.. Easter Bunny, Santa Etc Last Christmas we just happened to be sat on a bench as Santa came out of the employee area and he stopped and said hi to LO on his way past and LO was fine.
.. but what surprised me most was the bunny. We were just wandering past and LO was fascinated so we decided... what the hell lets see.. he got on the bunnies knee with out any problems at all and sat there quite happily rubbing bunnies leg the whole time.. I guess he likes furry bunnies lol
I think it probably helped we were just there at an off time.. it wasn't planned and there were no lines and very few people in the mall at the time.
If kids are being dressed up and dragged to Santa, standing in long lines with some kids faring better than others.. by the time you get to Santa he is probably beyond bored .. then all of a sudden you are sitting on some strange dudes knee and being asked to smile.. NOPE prolly not lol
I actually aggree with PP's that picture is awesome and will be remembered long past cutesie ones..and Santa deserves a few extra cookies this year ... Love it
DS did great last year but he was only six months old. It was great because there was no line and the photographer was so enamored with how cute DS was she let us take more pictures after Santa went on break.
We thought DS would be cool with Santa because FIL looks like Santa. Not so much. He did great with the Easter Bunny, but last year Santa made him cry. We haven't decided if he'll do it this year.
Dd was terrified of Santa last year but somehow we got one good photo. This year I bought a Christmas doll that she won't see until we are at the front of the line. Maybe that will distract her. If not, no big deal.
Love the photo! My son did not do too well last year at 2 years old. But this year, he was able to talk better, and it looks like a Santa photo is going to go better at 3 years old.

Last year when DD was just a little over 1 it looked like she was a cat being thrown into water! While she didn't have a great meeting, we still laugh over that picture.
This year she was okay with sitting on my lap NEXT to Santa. She was willing to talk to him and tell her that she wanted him to bring a baby doll. Hopefully next year she will be willing to sit on his lap again!
After 2 years of TTC, our daughter was born on Oct 31, 2011! 7lbs 13oz 20 inches long

my parents have a picture of Tony the Tiger holding me and me SCREAMING my face off- and it's funny to me...now.
I think we are going to wait on Santa too. DD has her random days of stranger danger and just my luck the day we go to see Santa would be one of them.
