AFP Blood Test and MaterniT21

Is it normal to have the AFP blood test after the MaterniT21 test comes back negative? Our GS had her 15 week appointment today and they recommended the blood test. I don't know much about it. Thanks for any insight!

    Yes, I had mine done recently and the Mat21 test done at 10 weeks.  AFP is checking for Spina Bifida.  The Mat21 test is checking for Trisomies.

    I know this is an old post but I had a positive Materni 21 test but a negative AFP test.  What does this mean?  Anyone have this?
