Success after IF

I'm so nauseated!

For the past 3 days, I have been so sick.  Nothing helps. Not unisom+b6. Not Zofran. Not sea bands.  I would almost think it was a bug, but it feels exactly like the "MS" I had with DS...where I rarely throw up but just wish I could because I feel so crappy.  On top of it, I have not pooped in forever due to all of the Zofran and now have raging hemmerhoids, too.  I feel so crappy I can't even remember how to spell hemhroids...or nauseated.  Why is this happening to me now at almost 16 weeks???

Thanks for letting me vent.  I just hope this isn't a precursor to pre-e, again.  MS in the second tri is linked to increased pre-e rates due to the abnormally high hcg levels (they just keep rising due to improper implantation) and I sure hope that is not what is going on here...

I'm so sorry. It's awful to get through the day when you are so sick :(. If it makes you feel any better, I had horrific m/s until the day I delivered. I think I was still throwing up around 3x/day at 16w. My BP was normal the whole time. I'd go get some citrus water and prunes to feel better. Hope it eases soon. ETA: I second the calling. Isn't there another med they can give for nausea. Phenergen?

  • Oh, I took some phenegran at night, too.  I can't take it during the day because it makes me a zombie. Also took some pregnancy safe antacids, too.

I have an OB apt already scheduled for Friday so I doubt I could get in sooner without having to take off work. The constipation and hemerhoids are completely from the Zofran.  I can live with that, though.  But the can't-move-MS is not my friend. Ugh.  I honestly really hope this is just a virus or something passing.

Honestly, I have heard of people having MS throughout their entire pregnancy, but I have never even heard of someone not having it and then it suddenly starting at 16 weeks.  WTF?

  • I'm soo sorry! I totally feel your pain. My only suggestion, if at all possible is to sleep it off when you can. Obviously working and a child make that practically impossible but lately I've been putting a lot on my DH when I just can't manage. Hoping its just a fluke thing!

  • Maybe it is a bug and the Zofran is keeping you from throwing up.  I've had the all pregnancy long morning sickness so feeling that way at 16 weeks was normal for me, but you're right, it's not as usual to have it start that late.  But, weird stuff happens.  I hope your blood pressure is good at your appointment.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

This is what I am sort of thinking at this point...that I have a stomach bug and the Zofran was keeping the throwing up at bay.  It is also what DH thinks.  Plus, on top of the MS, I was feeling really puny and a little achy one of the days.  I am feeling a little better today.  Stomach is still a little off, but I am functioning.

FX I continue to feel better and better.

Now I just need to poop.  I have not pooped in 5 days. Thanks, my good friend Zofran!

  • I'm with @itsmevkb. Zofran didn't stop me from throwing up- it just took the edge off the nausea. No way was I going to trade that minor relief for the misery of constipation.

  • Mine was the worst at 17 weeks so maybe there could be something where you could feel symptoms then and then it would disappear again.
