Living Room toy storage

I know we had a thread a while back showing toy storage solutions for the nursery. Does anyone have any toy storage ideas that look nice for the living room? Pictures would be great! Thanks

Re: Living Room toy storage

  • Wouldn't say it looks the nicest but this is what I am doing right now...image

Play May and boppy under the swing and loose toys in a dollar tree laundry basket. After Christmas I plan on getting one of these.....image to keep all the loose toys in check.

  • We just bought a leather ottoman with storage inside. I'll post a picture after I finish feeding this baby.
  • In all honesty Joseph doesn't have that many toys... (we're getting him more for Christmas) but as of right now all his toys fit in a ramen box....so we're using a ramen box as a toy box. But I do plan on buying a small toy chest/box that I have seen at walmart when we do get him more toys.

  • In our last place our living room was the "all things" room so we had a dark wood toybox that matched our tables.  We have a playroom now but still keep the baby stuff in the TV room because that's where he always is so we have a large basket from Target in the corner of the room.

  • I bought a large lined basket from target that matched our furniture. I don't worry about her jumparoo, swing, mat but I keep all her toys in there. Well I try. Most of the time they just stay on her play mat.

We have a basket in the living room and a smaller basket on the bookcase. I try to keep things in her room and as she needs them we bring out the basket of larger items. The smaller basket stays on the bookshelf and I change out the toys about once a week. imageimage
  • Love this just got it from target, plus it has wheels so it's easy to love around with the handle.
  • We have an L shaped sectional so we got this table from ikea as a dual purpose place to put drinks behind the couch and then we have baskets to hide toys and also diapers/wipes.

  • Thanks for the ideas. I think I am going to get a storage ottoman. LO's room is upstairs and its super inconvenient to have his toys up there. It sucks we don't have a play areas downstairs besides our living room. I have been think of turning the formal dinning room into his playroom in the near future.

MIL just bought us something similar. It's bench style ottoman but yeah, same concept.

  • Right now we just have a small basket of toys in the living room. Her other toys stay in her room. I'm waiting until we move this week and get all the rooms set up to decide where the best play area will be and then decide on storage options (I am also thinking about a storage ottoman, since I'm sure the family room right off the kitchen will be the TV room/playroom until she's a little older)

  • I just have a big basket that I stick on the shelf of one of our end tables.  Does the trick and was cheap :)

  • I have a Leather storage bench as my coffee table. Something similar to this....

  • We have two inexpensive fabric ottomans in our living room. It was intended for one to hold toys and one to hold books. Instead one holds blankets and each of the two boys has one wicker basket with their specific toys in it books are in the ottoman.

My favorite part is that the lids come completely off so no pinched fingers and these are great footrests and extra seating.
