Makeup recommendations?

Man, I am needy lately.  Just one more help request, then I'll stop. :)

I need new foundation and am thinking about leaping out of my comfort zone, so I would love to hear what you use.  I gave up on Sheer Cover because their new formula just didn't last long enough.  Clinique's redo of the city base foundation stinks and doesn't cover well.  What else is out there that's amazing that I don't know about?  I have combination skin and as of about two months ago, a little bit of rosacea on my cheeks, so I need oil-free and good coverage.

  • I use Bare essentials. I love it and have not had any issues with it.  I tend to have dry skin though.  I use their concealer and it works well. I have dark circles under my eyes and a couple of age spots.  It hide them very well.

  • I recently made the switch to Mary Kay simply because I got host rewards for hosting a "party" that consisted of just my mom and sister who love MK. I got the matte liquid foundation/primer set with my rewards and I will never wear anything else now! I swear my face even cleared up just from the switch.

Also, my consultant is awesome and really helpful about making sure you get the right stuff for your skin type.

I used to use Makeup Forever religiously, but then I tried (at the urging of my bestie) to try Revlon's color stay and it works literally the same.  It's under $10 and lasts a really long time.  It's also both oil-free and full coverage.  If you can't find your shade in Revlon, try Makeup Forever.
Revlon Color stay is what I used before making the switch. I always felt like it was completely gone by the end of the day! I don't have great skin though and constantly touch my face (bad, I know) so that's prob why it didn't work as well for me.

  • I was using Makeup Forever HD and loved it, but last time I went into Sephora it didn't bring up an exact match of my skin (although the one I had been using matched well) so I decided to try a different one from Becca. I like it because it goes on matte, but doesn't really stay matte all day for my oily T-zone.  It is oil free and has good coverage though.
  • I also use MK. They have a great foundation. I too have combination skin and it gives great coverage.

I flop between bare minerals and coverfx. I always get compliments on my skin when I use coverfx for some reason. It has great coverage and never clogs my pores and is just a quicker application than bare m.

ETA: coverfx is also great for oily skin. I also have combination and a little Rosacia. Both bare m and coverfx have worked great for it. actually bare m makes a yellow soothing powder specifically for rosacia. You use it as a base on red parts only then apply foundation over it. Don't know if you want to shell out the extra $$ though.

  • Mary Kay is what I use - I have bad adult acne and it has done wonders at keeping it controlled. Plus coverage is great and it lasts all day long without turning my face into an oil slick.

I am also a MK seller (just to friends and family - I don't push it).

  • @mandie727 I think so. It's $35. I think bare m is more expensive because you have to buy two different powders. You could try buying the redness relief powder first and trying it under your bare m and see if that helps. If not you can return it and start with a new foundation.

  • I must be the only person who doesn't like Bare Escentuals.  I tried it before Sheer Cover and just couldn't stand it.  Thanks for the recs, ladies.  I'll look into them.
