I can't stand drinking water all the time. I've never liked it. Is there a healthy alternative to water? I want to make sure my baby and myself are healthy so any tips or tricks would be great.
Perrier has flavored water with minerals and fizz. Grapefruit, lemon and lime. No sugar or artificial sweetener. That's what I drink when I'm tired of water.
I don't hate water but I don't want to drink it all the time. Sometimes I want something refreshing or hot. I've been drinking herbal tea & bubbly water. I normally steer clear of soda & fruit juices but I've been allowing myself things like Coke, sparkling apple juice & Juice Squeezes a couple times a week. I figure that balances out all the booze I'm not drinking.
I drink a lot of club soda/seltzer water. It's way cheaper than the expensive sparkling waters. I usually add lemon and/or lime to it. Or sometimes mix it with cranberry juice. I do like water, but sometimes need variety.
I've been drinking sparkling water, hot water with a slice of lemon, mint tea (both help with nausea), orange juice, watered down Gatorade and an occasional diet coke

I've been mixing it up with juice (all different varieties), juice cut with seltzer, flavored seltzers, milk, and V8 juice. And once a week or so I'll allow myself a precious Diet coke. And in between all that I drink at least a liter of water a day.
Any clear liquid (except coffee and black tea) count towards your daily liquid intake. Juice, broth, herbal/green teas, water with fruit, gatorade...it's all good. Find what works and go for it!

Be careful with some of the herbal teas - make sure they're safe for your LO. Some teas (I think green ones) are not very healthy for a developing fetus. Then again, the Chinese drink crap tons of green tea all the time and I'm sure they continue to do so while pregnant, so who knows! Just letting you know what I read (somewhere!)
Also, I drink Crystal Light or carry around one of those Mio things when I'm not feeling water. I'll have an occasional Sprite or ginger ale especially when I felt nauseous, but I LOVE juice and milk right now.
I'm addicted to carbonation, so to help cut down my soda intake, I've been drinking soda water mixed with 100% cranberry juice. It's actually pretty good. I drink Gatorade before/during workouts and a protein shake after (how I get my milk, since I'm not a normal milk drinker). Orange juice in the mornings (also a good way to get calcium since I don't drink enough milk). Etc.
Like PP said, many beverages count towards your liquid requirements, not just water.

I don't love water, I kind of make myself drink now because I know it is good for me. But I also drink milk and like ginger ale and lemon-lime type drinks.
@bbg676 you make a valid point, but the difference between propylene glycol and salt, sugar, and water is that it Is made in a lab. Our bodies are not meant to consume foods that created in a lab to be shelf stable.

Eat all the delicious chemicals you want, but at least avoid giving them to the baby you are growing inside you. He or she doesn't have the choice.
Vote #2 for Soda Stream (actually, I bought the generic one cheap on Amazon, and it uses refillable CO2 bottles, the kind used for paintball-- way cheaper than the proprietary SodaStream ones). I bought a bunch of natural fruit extracts and we make our own unsweetened fruity sparkling water. Yum. There are lots of great combos and it never gets boring. A little stevia (I use the drops, they're amazing) if you need something sweet in there, and you're good to go.
A splash of blueberry concentrate is great, too. And way healthy.
Kombucha. It has helped wean me off sodas because it is fermented and has that bubbly carbonation I Oh So Crave for. Also, since it is fermented it has natural probiotics which helps with a healthier you, and in turn a healthier pregnancy. It has a LOW alcohol content (0.5%) so if you are uneasy about that just ask your doctor.
I purchase the Syngery brand from my local health foods store. You can order it off Amazon too. They have all kinds of flavors, including "Gingerade" which can help with nausea :-]

Take filtered water and add cucumber, watermelon, strawberries, lemon, limes, etc. Any fruit or flavor that you can stomach! Keep a pitcher in the fridge and drink up!
